Keep looking as it could be other than the conductor plate.
For the DIY, please note 00 mb c230 kompressor. This item does work fine, no need to program the tcu nor do anything else but to make sure you install it correctly, make sure you keep it free of debris or dust as much as you can. The tcu on my car was faulty but here I’m gonna share with you how I’ve found out that was the issue. So I replaced the conductor plate for the new one I got here at amazon. After I finished installing the new plate and everything was put together I started the car and went for a test drive I didn’t get to far the car started to act up again so I thought the new plate didn’t work, same issue ( stuck on limp mode/ 2 gear no shifting also on the dashboard no response when trying to shift up or down/ reverse ok /neutral ok/ 2 gear only - this is what I saw on the dashboard ) so I’ve found out the tcu in my car was faulty only because I went to a shop near my house that works on European cars and the reading from the scanner was pointing at a no power feed from the shifter to the transmission which made me think that that’s where the issue was or was it? Since the conductor plate is in the middle of, so I went out to the junkyard searching for a new shifter with no luck, on my travels I’d found another mb c230 not the same as the kompressor c230 but same year and I decided to remove the tcu.A little disappointed because I couldn’t find the shifter I gave the tcu from the other car a chance and what do you know, I got home I plugged in the tcu I got from the junkyard and for my surprise the shifter was alive of course the car wouldn’t start which I knew something like that would happen or nothing at all because of the difference between the two tcu. But anyway I bought another tcu the one for my car with the same serial number and once I replaced it everything went back to normal the car is on the road again, the new conductor plate is on the car and so far everything works just fine. Anyway I thought I’d share just so you have another idea just in case you get stuck like I did with no Fancy scanner nor any more info as to how every part is setup in your car. I hope it gives you an idea of what to look for or helps your case.

Installed and Worked fine on my 1997 Mercedes E320
I installed this kit in the 722.6 transmission in our 1997 M-B E320.The plastic and connectors supplied appear to be at least as good as the original mercedes stuff that comes out of the transmission. The connector is good but you must drive it into place (light hammer taps with a punch ) in order for the small screw to be able to engage. This might have been the hardest part, though certainly not the dirtiest! The new gasket and filter fit fine and are of decent quality. No issues there. The conductor plate itself appears as nice as the one that comes out. Its installation is straightforward into the top of the valve body. Make sure it clips in all the way or you will never get the plug aligned later and have to re-do the job.You will have to have a special M-B dealer equipped computer or Carsoft 7.4 on a windows 7 and lower laptop with a real 9-pin serial port for the multiplexer to finish the job. It will not come out of limp mode on its own. I bought the multiplexer and software on Alibaba, but Amazon also has it (for more money). Yu also need to buy a dipstick tool to measure in the correct amount of fluid. Mine is presently a bit overfull but I honestly don't think it will matter much. You will need to erase the EGS and other modules to get it out of limp and to reset the factory defaults, but it is well worth it. Even with 300k miles, the car shifts like new again and with reset adaptive settings the throttle response is greatly improved.I wouldn't hesitate to buy this kit again. It saves a ton of money.

Quality parts for a good price. Disnt disappoint.
Did the job. Got a 2006 E350 AWD back on the road. Vehicle had multiple "this speed sensor input is improbable" and "this sensor doesn't match this sensor" codes as well as the failure to communicate with TCM code. The seal had gone bad on the connector adapter. Fluid had shorted out the connections. And the speed sensor was bad on the conductor plate. The solder appeared to have failed allowing a break in the connection from what I could tell. It's a common story. Anyway, these parts appeared to be high quality. Vehicle drove away shifting better than it had in a long time. Customer was happy. The bad reviews you see on here are most likely people who didnt know it needs to be taken out of limp mode with the correct scan tool. Or didnt have access to the tool. Or they used it on a NAG1 from a Chrysler or Pontiac. There are differences. Those need different parts. The other common mistake is to not clean out the harness at both ends with MAF cleaner to get all the fluid that has leaked into it out at the trans and at the computer. It WILL travel uphill. You can find out about this online. I had to disassemble and clean the actual computer as well in this case as fluid had gotten ino it also. If this isnt cleaned, itll seem like the parts were bad, cuz the problem will remain. When you do the complete job, as I did, and as you can find out about online, it works.

Car drives, Cant check fluid level, Dipstick no longer fits.
Installed this yesterday, install went as expected. Until i had everything bolted back up and put fluid in and needed to check the fluid level. On the original part, it has a large channel that's 20mm wide at the top and 14mm at the bottom, that guides the dipstick past the valve body towards the bottom of the pan. This new part only has a small tube with a slightly larger funnel shape on the top. None of my dipsticks fit, and if they do, they get stuck. Impossible to accurately measure the fluid level.I guesstimated the amount of fluid that came out, and attempted to refill with the same amount. At some point i'm going to have to take it back apart, and take a cutting tool and cut that tube off so that i can get a dipstick past it. Extremely frustrating. 1 star because of time wasted. If you look at the pictures posted on this listing, there is a tube just behind the 13 pin connector, on the side of the part, this is the dipstick guide that i am referring to.
