Arracourt 1944: Triumph of American Armor (Casemate Ilustrated) Paperback – Import, 15 January 2022

I really liked the book. It gave me fascinating insight to an action in WWII I had not heard much about. There were lots of pictures incorporated with the time line of the events. Overall, surprisingly well done book.

Das Buch geht nur unwesentlich auf die Schlacht ein. Es wird zu allgemein über den zweiten Weltkrieg und die Westfront philosophiert. Übersichtskarten sind Mangelware. Einige Bilder passen nicht zu den Beschreibungen. 2 Sterne wegen einiger seltener Fotografien.

Comparado con otros títulos de la colección, algo flojo. En mi opinión debería contener más fotos que ilustrasen las operaciones militares en Arracourt y no centrarse en la descripción de vehículos. Las ilustraciones a color no son las mejores que haya usado la editorial en otros títulos, de ahí mi nota de 3 estrellas.

This is an interesting book with a nice selection of photos Order of battle seems solid. The book's shortcoming is the maddening small technical errors. As regards the M4 Sherman's main armament, the author does not seem to know the difference between a 75mm gun and a 105 mm howitzer. On page 15, the author states, "the M4 Sherman was developed as a replacement for the M3 Stuart." Um...no. Perhaps the author doesn't understand how the "M" nomenclature works. Additionally, "panzer" does not really translate as "tank," its more like "armored". And with all the available photos of P-47s, why did the author chose an image of a P-47N, which never served in Europe? Reader, beware.

All the casemate WWII series books are excellent; I like them even better than Osprey series! Lots of rarely seen photos and great overall descriptions! A great addition to your historical reference collection! I recommend them highly!
