Nice bass amp, good sound; nice features
I’m a beginner on the bass after playing the guitar for a few years now. Have a new bass to learn on and this new bass amp does the job for practicing at home. That’s what I’ve used it for so far and all I likely will use it for. Can go nice and loud, volume can go all the way up and play deep notes without degrading or distorting quality. Sure, I wish it could go even louder but probably want a 200watt mega amp too! I usually practice at 50% volume just fine and turn it up when I want a bit more power to the sound. Notes are clear. No static or buzz at all for me. I like that it has a little built in LED tuner right on this unit. You can use it to tune your strings to their correct tightness. Or as a beginner l, you can use it to verify the note you are playing on the fretboard which is really helpful for me. I know a little portable one also works probably, but this was a nice little extra to find.

Great combo for active and passive basses.
Very well made portable amp. Sounds great, has that Orange tone even though it is a solid state amp. Buy a footswitch so you can use the "biamp" function. It works as a "dirty" channel with the gain and blend knobs. The parametric mid controls shine and the built in tuner seems to work well. The headphone output has cabsim so headphones sound great. As a practice amp this is great. You arent going to play any arenas with this amp and it lacks a balanced output. You can use the headphone jack with cabsim to record. Came with slick Orange stickers with heiroglyph decals and Orange logo decals. These are popular and I had to search to find a supplier that had some in stock. If the color is not your thing, its available in black.

Oh Yeah!
I bought the 25, a bitchin' little amp and liked it so much a month later I pulled the trigger on the 50. It's everything I like about the 25 only louder. This will replace a Crate 40 watt amp which is half again the size of this one and much heavier but man, what a difference it makes having a piece of quality equipment. Not to say Crate sucks or anything but this amp kicks it up a notch or two. If space is an issue, well, as you can see in the pic, it doesn't take up much room at all. If you're looking for something in the 50 watt range, this is your next amp. Unpacking it was a bit like one of those Russian dolls. There was a big Amazon box. Inside that was the Orange shipping box. Inside of that was the product box with the amp inside. Well packaged. The Seymour Duncans in The Cat Bass (the Cat always lands on her feet) really packs some punch with this amp. Dialed up some gnarly fuzz and ripped out the opening to "25 Or 6 to 4". Of course the Charvel just sounds sweet on anything.

Excellent amp not terribly loud
I love Orange. Only complaint - not enough power! I almost went 25w. I should have bought 100w. Blend control is very nice and the EQ truly works, tuner is great. Fantastic amp I just expected more thud.

First, let it be understood that this 50W bass amp would struggle to be heard in any live gig situation. Bass speakers need much more power, so don't make the mistake of assuming this 50W bass amp will be as loud as a 50W guitar amp. This is a very inexpensive and punchy bass practice amp that may also see me through a small pub gig. The cabinet is rugged and I think it will last me for years. It's not unforgivingly heavy. Even in my mid-sixties I can easily manhandle it, only needing my strapping young son's help in moving it up and down stairs. As well as the expected bass/mid/treble controls (and the mid is parametric) there is a really lovely feature called the Blender. For this reason I recommend you buy a latching footswitch you can stomp on to turn the Blender on (or off.) The Blender is a "bi-amp" simulator, which splits the signal into two parts. You get a clean bass signal through one part, and by tweaking the gain and blend controls you can introduce some "nasty" guitar-like distorted high and mid frequencies. There is a separate volume control for the overall gain. If you intend to play nice with your band you'll want to be able to switch the blender in and out easily during performance, otherwise you'll be annoying your keyboard player or guitarist for no good reason. If you play solo, though, go for it! Hendrix the s*** out of it, to paraphrase the Matt Damon character from The Martian. If you want your pedals to sit after the pre-amp, there is also an "FX loop", which is a common feature of bass and guitar amps. Otherwise just take your pedalboard output to the amp input. The headphone output features a cabinet simulator, which I'm given to understand can also be patched right into a PA or mixer as an alternative to conventional miking. Sounds cool, but I haven't tried it. There is an aux input (3.5mm) which is handy if you want to play along with a track from your phone or computer. Finally, if you have an active bass there is a button next to the input which will compensate by trimming a few dB from the sound level.

I’ve had a slew of practice amps, Traynor, Yorkville, blah blah blah. This is a good sounding amp that works well with my Ibanez multi scale 5 string. It’s loud enough for tiny pub gigs . I’m no pro but have been playing bar gigs on weekends since 1989. Money well spent is my opinion.
