I prefer to fabricate my own audio cables rather than pay the jewelry like markup that manufacturers charge for their high end audio cables. I can make a pair of “$1000 high end speaker cables for less than $100. I use Canare or Mogami raw cable, depending on the intended use with the Mogami being the more expensive but both are super high quality 4 conductor cable. These Viborg VB401G banana plugs are the bomb. Pure solid copper with a gold plated finish. Duel set screws for securely clamping the cable ends make for a solid mechanical- electrical connection. Highest recommendation. Oh the included Viborg logo heat shrink tubes make for a beautiful finish.

I purchased these to replace some less expensive banana plugs I used in the past. These are a clear step up. The unit is a single solid piece of metal plated with silver. The barrel is about 1mm thick and will not deform. The set screws are substantial and hold the wire very stably. Lastly the actual banana connection is along the complete shaft of the barrel and it solidly clicks in the speaker connection. It is far stronger contact that the flimsy springy type of banana connector that uses 4 leaves of a prong that is common.If you are building your own speaker cables and need banana plugs, you cannot go wrong with these - they are at the top end of connectors I have seen, but priced reasonably for the quality you get.

These banana plugs are amazing, both aesthetically and functionally. They fit perfectly into my speaker binding posts but for my amp? Unfortunately, the diameter was just a hair too thick so I had to go with a lesser quality plug. I still used Viborg but the ones on my amp are the less expensive spring type. Both did the job as expected and now I can work behind my amp without the banana plugs falling out. Some won't like the price for these plugs, but for me, it was worth the extra money.

Just helping people with their DIY speaker cables. Its a nice plug, I think its overly price at $36 for 4 pcs but I need it for thicker gauge wires. You cannot put thicker than 7awg inside this plug. The description says it can handle 4awg, thats not true. I bought 10awg gauge wires and combine 2 of them making it 7awg, it can barely fit. I tried 3x10awg making it to 5awg wire it could not get in. False advertising. If you dont need fancy plugs for thick wires, the regular bannna plug are just fine. I need the larger opening for biwiring wiring. I am writing to help others on the comments. Thanks

Affordable pure copper speaker plugs. Very happy in audio quality.

I bough two sets of these to replace the other mediocre Gold connector ends of speaker wire for item: "GearIT 10AWG Speaker Cable Wire with Gold-Plated Banana Tip Plugs"I was able to strip off the 10AWG leads a bit better from the Gear it cables to accommodate the new Viborg tips with better results. Its a good thing I removed the original Gearit Gold connectors and checked the wire because you will find out the factory preset connections, upon disassembly, may have strands that have been damaged, crumpled or misaligned and not completing the mechanical connection altogether. I was able to identify and correct any strand-length deficiencies just before putting the new Viborg plug-ends on, that now improved by the newer two screw design to fasten this beast of a wire gauge and more securely locked in place.--The only thing missing from my choice of this brand is buying another version that allows you to have the tip curved at a right angle so that the cable coming off the speaker terminals would not end up sticking strait out with no flex. I had not accounted for the length of heat- shrink, cable, and connectors all mounter together - as constructed. Without an angled connector the cable would not bend up closer on the speaker terminal where it needed to be angled, left or right. Now the speaker has to sit further away from the wall.

These plugs are by far the highest quality I've encountered. I wanted a non-brass plug with solid body and gold plating (to prevent surface corrosion). Copper is a better conductor than brass and though I doubt this makes much, if any audible difference, it satisfies the audiophile neuroses (we're all nutters). The spring mechanism is ingenious for this application and allows for good contact area with the binding posts. Considering the quality, I think they're reasonably priced. They even come with white and red pieces of heatshrink for those who make custom cables and want that boutique appearance. Great quality all-around. As they say, highly recommended!
