I purchased these because I love to use fountain pens and read that Tops Gold were good for that. It seems like good quality paper but feathers terribly with fountain pen ink. If you're a ballpoint writer, these are a step up from the cheap ones, so you'll probably enjoy them.

I'm searching for top quality small legal pad to use on my airplane kneeboard for in-flight note taking. This is the priciest paper I could find, and the writing surface and toughness of the paper itself is fine. But I need the sheets to detach individually, since I carry 3-4 at at a time on my kneeboard. And these pages just don't rip off cleanly from the pad. So far, 1 in 4 pages rip along the perforations cleanly, but the rest tear raggedly. Its a big disappointment

Not worth the extra money for supposedly preventing bleed through. I'm using both the felt tip and rolling writer pens by Cross and both bleed through. Also, pages don't always tear off cleanly.Sometimes, the pulling corner doesn't come off the pad cleanly, so the right hand upper corner of the page has a corner cut off. Looks goofy when I then later scan it for preservation. I'm using high quality items for client meetings for a professional presentation and first impression purposes.When I tear off a page during a client meeting, I want to be sure I'm not showing a cheap pad of paper, which is a dead giveaway of a pretender. I'm selling premiere financial services, so I don't want to show that I'm using a Walmart-type of pad. It's like wearing a Timex watch at a formal gala event - and I have plenty of Timex watches, btw.I'm keeping the pads because I can't find anything else that's being sold at a reasonable price. Actually, I'd like to buy a pad that's 24 lb paper, but I haven't seen one yet on Amazon. This is 20 LB paper, just like ordinary copy paper.50 sheets per pad, 12 pads, costs me about $2 per pad. That's 4 cents per page. I should think I could get 24 lb paper for 4 cents. It's not even a full page. oh well...

Excellent notepad! This stack arrived in great condition, although some of the cheaper TOPS pads I ordered in the same batch came mangled a bit. The paper in this notepad is thicker then normal printer paper, ink does not bleed though, and you cant really see what is written on the pages beneath - even with black ink. Tears off very smoothly and cleanly. Will buy this again.

Great value for money spent.

I really like a sturdier paper - this is nice, accepts ink nicely, and doesn’t voluntarily tear off. I got it to go with the HISCOW Junior leather padfolio , and the set is a really nice combination.

I mostly use these for lists that I'll need to last for a while without getting too crumpled up like shopping lists or To Do lists. Great 20 lb paper and a good stiff cardboard backing.
