The clasps on top are cute and cross back ties are sturdy. Gotten compliments in class over it. Ends of ties are finished with “leather” so it won’t accidentally fall out of side grommets. (Ties can still can come out or slide out as needed with ease. Just nice detail on the ends). I signed up for a beginner handbuilding class and decided to get my own apron. I’m so glad I happen to find this split front apron because it works perfectly as I transition to the wheel in my next beginner wheel class. Works well as normal apron because it lays flat when standing but also protects your legs/pants/clothes from potter’s wheel splatter. The length is good for someone around 5’2 or 5’3. Crossback design makes it easy to adjust how high you want the apron to sit on your body. Easy to wipe off at the end of class. The 2 pockets are really convenient for tools or sticking the end of a hand towel into so you have hanging off to the side to wipe when needed. Would recommend for any new potter and would also buy again if I need a second apron.

Great claypron. I have one that I use for hand building - it keeps my clothes clean. I just bought another for throwing. I love that the chest is wide enough to keep my top clean. I don't know about you, but I always end up with slurry all over when I'm on the wheel. The material is somewhat water resistant but not stiff and heavy. I can wear it at my studio without even noticing it - I've almost left with it on a few times. The split allows me to sit at the wheel and keep my thighs clean. It's designed to function as a split leg apron and a regular one. The two bottom leg panels cross each other so it splits when you sit and gives full coverage when standing. You don't need the leg ties that others have. I love how versatile it is. It also has a pocket on the right side for tools. I haven't washed my original one so I can't say how it would hold up to that but I will say that it hasn't degraded at all from the constant clay dust or smears of clay. It's still in very good shape for the abuse it takes. It fits me great- I get good coverage from it, but I'm a size 7....
