Is this to replace the film from the factory that is beginning to bubble at the fold ?

Yes that is exactly what it is for. Someone on here says not to remove the originally installed protector - that is the wrong information! Mine started lifting at the crease about one year in. Putting a new one on top of the old one makes no sense and wouldn't solve the problem.. You must remove the original. The jig makes it the replacement a 3 minute no hassle job and gives great results.

Will it fit z flip 4?

Actually it will. I had the flip 3 and had this in the box never used. I upgraded to flip 4. Screen size is identical and it went on perfectly

Do they sell the tabbed films separately? So that you don't have to purchase the tray system more than once?

Nope. As you probably know, the tray allows for perfect installation (except for those pesky dust bubbles). I was okay for paying for the tray to ensure a good fit. The reason is there is something sticky on the underside of the film protector. I am hoping I am not in the same boat as you might be for a while and need to replace it again.

Can you buy new replacements for the jig?

No, have to rebuy the whole set up
