This item was purchased as a gift for a client. There are several color options, you can control whether or not it blinks and rapidly that occurs. Battery operated, ideal for a desk, bedside table, or dresser; it does not take up a lot of room and is very light.Because this was to be sent to a client, I did check with the residence hall prior to purchasing to be sure that the person would be able to adjust settings to their preference and that there were no concerns from the organization. Noting it is battery operated, administrators said it would be a welcome addition to the individual's belongings. I was pleased with the purchase and would gladly purchase again for a train enthusiast.
