Water barrier
This worked really well for my carport. It keeps water from reaching my open wood sill trim.

Perfect water diverter and highly recommend!
First off, if you found this review helpful in your decision-making, please click on the helpful button so this review may help others in their decision-making process. CAUTION: Misleading description! Barrier is 6 inches wide and 5 ft long and grows to 3.5 inches high when activated. It does NOT raise to 6 inches after activated! Amazing product that works to DIVERT water (see review video), although I would not suggest using it if you have torrential flooding (water flowing 10+ mph at a constant rate). Barrier is activated by water, and can be placed in the needed location either dry (wait for the flooding water to activate the product,), or wet (personally activated by soaking in water for ~5 min, method I used).I am currently using this to block water from flowing into the outside bathroom. The review video shows approx. how much water actually flows through that particular area, and does a very good job blocking that from entering under the bathroom door. Product length is 5 ft, although that was a little long for me, so I attempted an experiment. I measured out the length I needed and chose to soak ONLY THE MEASURED SECTION in the water-filled bucket, and let the rest overhang over the bucket to stay dry... The ending result is in one of the photos provided (with the scrunched-up section), and works PERFECTLY! The dry end never touches water, so it stays in this flat position, and has stayed this way at the time of this review 1 month later. The product is also reusable (allow ALOT of time to dry) and biodegradable, allowing for easy clean ups. In conclusion, I highly recommend this product and will purchase more should anything happen to these.

Works well.
They work great. I bought 2 sizes for areas around my garage. The only thing I noticed with my second use of them is that some of the inner absorption crystals ended up on the outside of the bag. This was only a concern being that I have dogs and did not want them to ingest any of the product. So, I had to clean off the barriers really good before the next rain. But they kept my garage interior nice and dry.

Still absorbed water after 5 years!!
Purchased 02/2019 Reviewed 03/2024. This is a durability & performance review. I bought some Quick Dam products back in 2019 because I was looking for water containment products due to either heavy rain or possible burst pipes or plumbing problems. I used two of the 6ft long tubes during a heavy rain storm. I then laid the tubes out on my backyard patio in full sun afterwards when they were fully expanded & after several days they were dried out. Instead of throwing them away, I just put them in the garage on the floor out of the way. What's the saying, Out of Sight = Out of Mind? Well, they were forgotten! Enter tropical storm Hilary = Our area was to receive a tropical storm, something that has never happened during my 60+ year residency in this area. News channels were telling us to prepare & showing people filling up sand bags -- A light bulb moment went off in my head, Would those tubes still work? I had one area of my house, an enclosed patio with a sliding door that always seem to collect water during downpours because my ground (soil) is so hard where I live that it takes a while for water to be absorbed into the ground. In previous rains, I'd been ok - water would build up & then absorb into ground - but those were rains where the downpour would be on & off during the day - this projected storm would be extremely heavy rain. It was heavy, water came down in sheets non-stop for hours & hours! I had taken the tubes out of the garage & put one of the tubes in front of the slider - as you can see in the picture taken after the storm - it swelled up & still worked after 5 years -- it says on the product bag the item can be reused for months - but this sat in a garage where the temperature during the summer is over 100 degrees, and it still worked & did not completely degrade & dry out. I have recently purchased some more of these so I will be prepared again; if I had any doubts about this product working, after performing during Hilary, they are gone.

Trustworthy
Whenever there is a chance of heavy rain I order these barriers. They always absorb water quickly and I love I can reuse them. They’re an excellent value and this one came in two smaller pieces which I found helpful for my garage. I have used the larger one on the outside of my garage. These are easy to use. Just lay them where you want and when the sun comes out, dry them in the sun. They’re lightweight and very durable. No holes or issues.

Water barrier
A MUST if you leave in Florida or anywhere where there are heavy rains or flash flooding. Absorb the water that infiltrates under your door and prevents it from flooding your house. No mess to clean up.

Drying out time is forever!
The flood barrier technically works. However, you would need many to ward off water from any real flooding. The bigger issues is the amount of time it takes the product to dry out. I live in Phoenix and had purchased to use at the entrance of my patio during our heavy rains. When I used them 8 days ago for a couple hours. Then picked them up and laid out to dry outdoors with low humidity and temperatures over 100. Over a week later and the silica is still not dried out. If it is not dried out yet in AZ, I cannot image in other climates how long they would take to dry.

EXCELLENTTTTTTT.
If I could have given this more than 5 stars I would. I normally get water under my sliding door whenever it rain, but can you believe I just experience hurricane Melissa a category 5 system and this worked wonders for me. It held all the water that came in. This is the reallllll deal. Get it NOWWWWW you wont regret it. Will definitely be purchasing again.

These are great and do as described. Used in a recent rain event and kept water away from the area needed. They take awhile to expand and will take a long time to dry out and inflate but can then be rolled up again when flat.

It soaked up so much rain fall. No leaking into basement suite this year! Takes a long time to dry, a week. But once dried, I folded it & brought it back inside for the next torrential rain!
