The book costs roughly Rs. 135, and it is an absolute steal at this price as it's a compilation of four novels.It took me quite a few months to read this whole book, comprised of multiple novels, but it was well worth the effort. Because the language is different than our colloquial lingo today, I didn't sit down and binge read because I wanted to really get what was happening. It was a good break from the usual literature I read, and it challenged me as a reader which I appreciated. With so many short stories it was easy to read one, put the book down, read something else & forget to come back to Mr. Holmes. My first acquaintance with Sherlock Holmes happened in class 7th when our English teacher tried to imbibe in us a habit of reading. Back then, I bought Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Case Study of Sherlock of Holmes. I picked this book just to revisit those days, and again get that feeling of nostalgia reading these stories.I very much enjoyed the two novels in this volume: A Study in Scarlet, and the Sign of Four. My favorite short stories and the most exciting for me were: a Scandal in Bohemia, the Five Orange Pips, and the Adventure of the Speckled Band.All in all, I’m greatly fond of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes. I think his writing is quite wonderful and simple. I love his literary style as well. Further, he depicts Victorian England in a very accurate way, which to me deserves a five star. Carefully masterminded crime thriller, Arthur Conan Doyle was blessed with the art of storytelling, the book is a page-turner.
