Great Jacket
I did not expect this to be as cosy. A great jacket with removable fleece. I have been walking our dog in the pouring rain and arrive home as dry as a bone. The hoose is great too at keeping wind out your face

Jacket
Great jacket, lightweight warm, probably need a thick jumper underneath for winter! Order a size up, I'm medium and needed a large, but if you're ordering trousers too or 2 sizes down.

Rain? What rain?
Good quality as expected. A little snug around the hips but otherwise excellent.

Usual Berghaus good quality
Haven't tried it in the wet yet but my old one is still waterproof after 6+ years. I only bought this one so that I've got a dry one to put on when the old one is wet on the outside and I don't want to get my car seat wet. My only gripe with both coats is the lack of an inside pocket in the fleece so when it's zipped in the outer, the outer coat effectively has no inner pocket with the risk of mobile phones getting wet. On the up side, the pockets in this coat are much deeper than my old coat

What can I say
Ok.. I've used Berghaus products for about 40 years. I've never had to dispose of a jacket because it has lost it's ability to defend against the elements. I have downgraded their use to work/allotment functions but they still perform. A few comments on this new addition. For me this is a multi-purpose winter jacket. I'm not climbing the Eiger or anything like that these days, but it looks smart enough for casual wear and the Hydroshell gives a reasonably soft feel but is 100% waterproof. Breathability is good at reasonable exertion levels. The liner is not a standard Berghaus fleece. It has no outer breast (phone) pocket unlike all standalone Berghaus fleeces I've had over the years. The lining fleece does though, have smooth inner material to the arms. This means the jacket slips on or off easily when wearing a technical under layer. Overall for an entry level technical coat I believe this to be good value at around £125.
