Update: Improved. Overheat Protection Works
Updated review: The seller contacted me and offered an improved replacement with a 2 year warranty. I wanted this to work last time so I accepted the upgrade. I've waited for 3 months to post this until I had tested it completely. I've taken it on 3 long all day road trips and use it for work 4 days a week making deliveries and doing estimates in my construction related business. It has worked great! I initially had an overheating problem and the charger would not shut down on the old version. In this new version it did. This was great news! It worked as advertised. My phone didn't need to shut down when it got hot. The charger did. I turned on A/C and opened windows and within 5 minutes it was up and charging again. The think the aluminum clamping arms dissipated the heat fast. It occurred while running Google Maps for more than an hour on warm 80 - 90 degree days here in Oregon because I don't turn on my A/C until it hit's 90's. I initially thought my DC adaptor was too strong but tried a lower wattage unit and the over heating problem and shutting down persisted. I then ran Maps in the Dark Mode and the problem went away. I surmised my Google Pixel 6A Pro was draining the battery too fast and required constant charging to keep up, which overheated it. An update to Maps has also helped reduce the power consumption although dark mode is really the solution. I can charge off and on for 5-6 hours with maps running and I still have around 75-85% battery left by the end of the day. I'm glad I gave them another chance because this mount has higher quality made arms and motor gears than other brands I've tried. The new customer service representative emailed and responded to me multiple times after receiving the replacement to check on it's status. I would and have recommended this charger. Old review: Stopped working 11 days out of warranty and there is no way to reach the seller. Beware of products with a short warranty period. I wanted to love this product because it was made with aluminum arms and had a stronger mount. I have tried 4 other brands and they all broke within 6 months. This cost more but just lasted 3 months. Pros: the arms opened far enough to grab my Pixel 6 pro and charged through an Otter box defender case. Made with aluminum arms and had a stronger mount. Cons: The issues it had were in the charging elements. It was supposed to have an over heat shut off sensor that never worked. Before I bought it I messaged the seller and they assured me it would shut off when hot. It caused my phone to over heat and luckily my phone would shut itself off. I hope it didn't damage the battery. I read the manufactures description and it said: "When your phone is fully charged, the wireless car phone charger will automatically power off and protect the battery of your phone" It never did. That's what happened the day it finally stopped working. I was running Google maps for about an hour on a road trip. When my phone notified me that it was too hot and shutting down I tried to remove my phone so it could cool off but the charger arms would not open and it never worked since. There doesn't seem to be any way to reset it ether. In the detailed description of the holder where they suggest what to do if it's not charging your phone, it says "Preventing your phone from overheating: We suggest you close Apps to reduce power consumption and turn off phone screen during wireless charging." My question is how do you use a map if you're supposed to close all aps and turn off the screen? My other holders worked fine with Google maps running. The arms just broke and stopped opening because of the wide phone. I'm hoping the seller will see this post and contact me. I really liked it and would like a replacement. Because I'm thinking that maybe I just got a faulty one.

Finally One That Lasts
I've tried multiple car phone mounts over the years, with and without wireless charging and automatic gripping. My first mount that gripped automatically had a button I had to press the phone against to activate. It worked okay, but was inconsistent with charging and finicky. It only lasted about 5 months before I had to get a new one. The next one used a light sensor to close the arms. That was the worst design. The sensor would activate falsely quite often when not in use, then it stopped charging half the time, so I would have to plug in my phone directly. The mount had some battery power to let me use it unplugged a couple times, but after that I'd have to switch the cord back from my phone to the mount again to get it to open. Then the retraction stopped working, and I had to close it by force. Overall it only lasted 6 months before I was ready to buy a new one, which is how I found this mount by CHGeek. I needed a mount that wouldn't break down in six months, would activate reliably, and charges consistently. After the issues with the previous mount's light sensor, I was concerned that this CHGeek mount would have similar troubles, especially since I wasn't clear on how it activates. However, it seemed to be the best option, so I crossed my fingers and tried it out. I've now had this charging mount for over a year and a half, and it's still going strong. It's easily my favorite mount, because it is super simple to use, and works reliably. The way it activates is geniusly simple – when the phone is set inside, the arms close as soon as the wireless charging kicks in, which is immediate. It charges quickly, and if someone else is driving who has a phone without wireless charging, the mount still works perfectly fine just by pressing the side button. The closing mechanism hasn't worn out, and the mount itself is sleek. It holds onto the dashboard quite well also. Although it can loosen occasionally, it's a quick fix. The rotating/tilting mechanism holds securely. The only negative thing I can really say about it is that the black finish on mine soon turned to a bronzy color on the metallic portions under UV exposure. Unexpected, but I don't think it looks bad. I often do deliveries and may use a company vehicle, or if that's not available, get reimbursed for using my vehicle. When I use my vehicle, I have no hassle getting in and out of my car with my phone and always have a full battery despite constantly using my phone for dispatching and GPS.

Phone
I bought this for my son's car and it it works very well. We like how it has many options to set for height adjustment and the secure mount is holds in place very well. His car is an older vehicle so it does pick up his rough ride which is none of this devices control. Over all very reasonable price for great quality.

These work great if you have a comfortable mounting position for them
Great all round charger. Unfortunately this one did come broken out of the box. This is the 4th one I bought as I got family a few as gifts it worked so great. Bought a new car and got a dedicated mounting system for that specific car model instead. If you can’t find one though this is a decent alternative. Downside is it does leave sticky glue residue on the dash during hot summer days and is a pain to clean. Mounting it into the air vent is probably best.

Updated Review
After thinking about it for a few days I've decided to update my review and make it 5 stars. The reason is two fold. First off, the build quality on this thing is astounding especially for the price. We just had the worst storm in decades blow through with -15f temps. I left it in the car overnight. When I got up in the morning my entire car was encased in ice. Many things in my car had frozen and split from the cold. I was worried I would find the charger destroyed. But it just worked flawlessly. The second reason is that I found a competing product at Walmart. For twice the price I expected it to be twice as good ,so I bought it and tried it in my other vehicle. In actuality the quality of the Walmart one was so bad that it broke within a day and wouldn't hold my phone. It also didn't charge nearly as fast as this one does despite being labeled 25W. If that's the current state of these things then this model needs 6 stars. All things considered my initial review was too harsh, this is a wonderful little product easily worth 2x the price. My apologies if I turned anyone off with my previous review. I've left my old review in place because the bit about mislabeling appears to be true, but now I wonder if it's the plastic that's mislabeled because my phone does appear to be using fast charging when connected. OLD REVIEW BELOW ************************ I like most of this product. However I bought it because it says quite clearly that it supports 15W fast charging. It says this on the ad, it says it on the box. However the product itself says it has a max draw of 5V @ 2A. That means this product can in theory put out 10W max. More likely than not it will come in at 8W, since there are some losses. In either aspect it is NOT 15W. Everything else about this product is great! I love how it snugly holds the phone in place. I think the automatic arms are super nice. The product is great! It's just not a quick charger.

Pluses and Minuses
There are no flat surfaces on the dashboard of my car so it took some tinkering to find the right spot. It fell off with my phone in it twice before I found that spot. I also got smart enough to let it sit for a day before I put my phone in it. It rattles when there is nothing in it, but the arm and suction cup are doing well now and seem sturdy enough. The mechanism that clamps and unclamps on the phone is very spotty. If I forget to open it before I turn the car off I have to turn it back on to open the clamps. Sometimes they open and close properly, more often than not though, it’s a wrestling match. It is absolutely NOT fast charging. The charger has worked every time but after having my four day old iPhone 16 on it for an hour while driving it had charged 7%. That’s ridiculous. The cord is more than long enough for my Kia Soul, and I can’t imagine it being a problem for too many vehicles. I travel locally every day for my job so I wanted something like this, and I’ll keep this one for now, but I don’t know that I would want this for a very long time. It’s ok, but certainly not great.

Have a phone? Have a Car? Get this!
Phone mounts are a everywhere, and it’s rare to locate one which stands out from the crowd. I think we have found one here. I have sectioned my review out below for easy reference, so what are we waiting for lets get to it! Who is this product for: I’ve always said, every product is for someone, so who is this for? Short answer people who own a phone and drive a car! Does your phone support wireless charging? Do you own or operate a vehicle in which you want to charge you phone? If you answered yes, you are the market. Value: This unit is a good value if you ae in the market for a premium phone mount and charger. I’ve bought more expensive models which offer similar or even fewer features. Features: This unit comes with 2 mounting options, one which mounts to the vent on your car, I was not able to use this as the vents in my cars are very deep, as such the mount would not reach and grab them. I was able to use the mount to hold this to the windshield and I liked that this adjusted on angle, and allowed me to tighten and lock it into place, so it did not move while I was driving. The arm extends and the ball/socket mechanism was adjustable and held my heavy S24 ultra and case in place with little trouble. The locking mechanism is motorized and grasped the phone firmly enough to hold it but not press buttons or compress the outside case. I am over all happy with the way it’s held into place. The charging rate of 15 Watts works well and was able to charge my phone through it’s case (my case is very thick). Do know that this unit works best with a QC charger. As well there is a light on the side which will not turn green if the correct power is applied. Build Quality: The unit feels solid and well built. The motorized section moves smoothly and very quietly, the materials feel high quality and I anticipate they will last a number of years charging you phones. Controls: There is a single button on the side that controls the release and close should you need it. This unit when open will also sense your phone close and start charging. Aesthetics: I find this device to be sleek, simple and elegant. Overall I am pleased with it how it looks. Overall: This is a mid-level priced phone holder (although this is on sale at this moment for 23.39 with a 20% off coupon). With Higher level features and elegance, if you need one then go for it! This is a solid unit for a good price. Be sure to pick up a good QC 3.0 charger for the best performance.

Holds the phone perfectly but can fall off in the sun.
Holds my iPhone 16 Pro Max securely while driving and easy to angle. Only issues is that the adhesive can come loose if it's been sitting in the sun too long and the charge is slow and weak. At best it keeps the phone at the same charge while using maps only on a drive.
