HolbeinIrodori Artist Gouache - Winter, Set of 12, 15 ml, Tubes

The product itself was amazing but, the box was shredded and a couple of tubes were crushed beyond recognition... if this had been for a gift, I would have been very disappointed. Holbein takes pride in the presentation of its art materials and this package did not reflect the care the company takes. Whomever packaged this from Amazon put it in an "UNPADDED" envelope and showed little care in protecting a very expensive paint set during the delivery process. As an artist familiar with the product and how it behaves under such circumstances, I was able to salvage the paint in the damaged tubes. Thankful to have this set (as very few are available on Amazon).ALSO: Patina (G847) is NOT a forest or pine green as insinuated by the tube color, it is a straight up PG7 (Pthalo Green blue shade) seldom seen in nature (but excellent for mixing) and the Crimson (G801) is PR83 (Alizarin Crimson) a pigment known to be a fugitive (non-lightfast) color... that said, it's gorgeous and fun to use- I just wanted folks to have a heads up.

You get soooo much paint, and these colors are so beautifulYou really stretch your mind with ease using them

Most of the colors were opaque except for the patina color which is very transparent. The grey was simply a beautiful color and the all the colors were excellent, especially for painting in ukiyo-e style.

The set received appeared to be used. For the price I expect better service. So instead of giving 5 stars for the quality of the paints, I’m dropping my rating to 2 stars.
