Great for under $100, syncs up easily with LG TVs to control volume with TV remote
I got exactly what I paid for here. It's my first sound bar, needed something better than the awful audio of a modern TV. This so far has made playing games with positional audio SO MUCH MORE IMMERSIVE (Dying Light 2 on Steam Deck has been my main test so far) and once again, coming from TV speakers, it's been nice in my opinion. Decent level of bass for just a soundbar. I'm quite happy with this in my house's living room, but I did choose to get one without a separate subwoofer. Keep your expectations reasonable if you're going this route, as well. The thinner width of the optical cable solution worked better for me than an extra HDMI cable would have. If you have an LG TV you still get full functionality with this.-Plug that optical cable into the back of the TV and down to the soundbar.-In your TV settings, change the "Sound Out" from TV to Optical. By default my TV remote was already controlling the sound bar, but the volume level was showing up as an X on the TV. In your LG TV settings, there is an option for this: Sound -> Additional Settings -> LG Sound Sync-Enable that, and for me audio went out entirely, so I toggled through all the soundbar's input options until getting back to ARC/Optical. Or power it off-on. The sound should return but now your TV remote shows the volume level when you adjust that.To avoid having to wall mount another thing, it would be great if this could attach to the spots on the bottom of the TV where there are screw holes for the feet. Don't know how realistic that would be for allowing different TV sizes. My display is on an adjustable mount and pulled away from the wall to bring it closer, and I don't want to position the sound further back than the display itself.

Nice, inexpensive but lacks bass
Let me start with a negative, I installed the soundbar and after having read all the reviews on the LG site and marketing for the product I was disappointed. The bass, even so it might be ok for a not so sensitive person when it comes to sound, felt disappointing to me. Next I did some tweaking, essentially cranking the bass up to max, and upping the volume it became acceptable for me. On a bright side it's good that the bass level can be adjusted. I have a small bedroom where this is mounted under a 40 inch TV. I paid like 80 USD for the refurbished version and explicitly didn't want to have a sub due to space. If you invest double of that you can get a very decent soundbar (from LG or Vizio, ..) with or without a sub providing decent bass. Taking everything into account (price, size, looks) I gave it 4 stars, but don't expect lots of bass. I would not buy the new version of this soundbar, I'd rather go with another one.

Works Perfectly!
Bought this soundbar because my oh-so-expensive Bose soundbar refused to properly sync with my LG OLED65C8PUA. This one worked perfectly through HDMI ARC, allowing me to control both the TV and the soundbar through the LG Magic Remote. Sound quality is good for an all-in-one unit. Though it would probably be a bit underwhelming for home-theater applications (due to not having a dedicated subwoofer), for a bedroom or secondary TV, it works just fine. Certainly better than the onboard TV sound!

Awesome Sauce.
Easy to set up and I’m tech challenged for real for real.

Terrible
I got this for my LG TV when I was in grad school. It came missing the remote and so I complained about it to the seller. They said they’d send it out but NEVER DID. So the only way to set it up with your tv (and manage things like the bass, which this module canNOT handle at the 3 highest settings on the bar itself) is to use the app, which EVERY time you log into, makes you Bluetooth from your phone, changing the output of sound from the tv to your phone. How awful is that? Pretty awful. So I would set the bass, then change it back to the tv and notice it’s still too high. I’d go back to the app to adjust it again and it would sit there searching for the soundbar to use as a source, switching over from the tv to my phone, then I’d adjust again. Then back to the tv to test and it’s still too high causing distortion, so back to the app, switch output to the phone, adjust the bass, then back to the tv. Sooooooooo annoying. Do not buy this, and DO NOT, whatever you do, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR. They lied to me and never sent the remote.

Good but not much better than TV speakers.
Without a subwoofer it sounds a little inadequate.
