Fantastic jacket!
I am so glad I chose this jacket. I've been wearing it a couple months now in all kinds of weather and it has kept me warm when it's cold and windy but not overly warm when temps are up, and it's kept me dry in the rain. I originally ordered a medium, which was a snug fit, and I returned it. I like to wear several thinner layers of clothing when it is cold out and knew I needed a large, which is perfect for me. I am 5 feet tall, 130 pounds. I have worn a form fitting silk mock neck, topped by a Climate Right fleece shirt, under a cotton cardigan, and can easily don and remove the jacket. Even with all that clothing, the jacket has a slenderizing silhouette and is easy to zip. Love the two-way zip, the soft lining, the amazingly deep pockets inside and the easy zip pockets on the outside. I find hoods annoying but the hood does fit well and removes easily, so I fold it and put it in the deep inside pocket when rain is forecast. I love the deep grey heather color which goes with all my clothes, shoes and boots. This is a very well made high-quality jacket with excellent stitching and easy to use zippers, even if it were double or triple the price. I toss it around a lot when out shopping or on the bus and it never looks wrinkled. I know this is a bit long for a review, but this is the best jacket I have ever had and wish I could buy one for everyone I know!!!

Lightweight yet warm
The media could not be loaded. I had a jacket very similar to this one and accidentally left it on a train last year. I’ve been looking for a replacement ever since. When I saw this on October 11-12 Amazon days, I had to order it! I received it today, 10/13, and couldn’t wait to see it. The jacket was tightly folded and packed in a zip lock type bag. The packaging offered a great view of the jacket. The next thing I noticed was how soft the outer shell is and I had to do a video review of my new favorite jacket. Inside is very soft fleece lining, even in the hood. It looks like it will keep me warm in the Fall and early spring. The outer shell feels like it will repel the rain and I will do a follow up review when I wear it in the rain. The XL fit is perfect for me. FYI, I am 208 lbs and 5’6” tall. I love how it fits a bit longer in the back. The plum color, I think they called it purple red heather, is beautiful. It appears to be well made especially around the seams and the detachable hood. The hood is securely attached by a zipper and Velcro. The front tabs of the hood are velcroed and fit snugly as you can see by one of the images I uploaded. The pockets are deep and that’s a nice surprise for me. So far I don’t see anything I don’t like.

Great jacket!
I bought this jacket for a trip we took to Iceland in June. It’s very comfortable, not too bulky for packing, great pockets and warm! I’m 5’9” and the length is perfect for me. Will get more use out of it this winter.

Nice jacket - shortish arms
I ordered this jacket as I needed something lightweight but warm and waterproof.I really like the style of this jacket. I found that I like cinching the jacket a little at the waist. The color is great. My photos show the color pretty accurately so in the light, it’s a bit “rosier” than I expected. The fabric was as advertised. It repelled a decent amount of rain for a week in London - never soaking through and very protective. The lining is nice and warm fleece. The jacket even has handy, deep pockets inside - great for keeping valuables safe and dry. The hood is ample - it’ll cover your entire head/face with some to spare. My only issue with this jacket is the length of the arms. I’m tall - but not that tall - and I would expect the arms on an XL to be an inch or two longer. I wore long sleeves anyway to make up the difference but it’s something for you to be aware of if you are taller and/or have longer arms.

I have found the perfect jacket
I bought this for a trip to Scotland and England. The weather was to be lows of 40 and highs of 54 with occasional rain. Though walking across a Highland hill or two was possible, I didn't want to look like I was about to hike a mountain when I was shopping and site-seeing around London. So my "perfect jacket" goals were lightweight, weatherproof, and warm with a sleek, casual-but-classy look. I had already tried on some brands known for being travel-friendly but since they all had the puffer look, I felt like looked like either my granny or the Michelin Man. Plus their logos tend to be in white letters on the chest. Not the look I'm going for. I then ordered multiple designer brands from Macy's and this one from Amazon. I was sure one of the designer brands would be my top choice. What I was not expecting was that this Outdoor Ventures jacket would be stretchy. So when I layered on shirts and sweaters (as everyone kept telling me layering was key for my trip), I felt strangled by all the other jackets. But this one felt wonderful. I could move freely in it no matter how many layers I was wearing underneath. Though some of the designer jackets had snazzy belts and shiny zippers, when I tried them all on for my Fashion Consultants (mom and daughter), the consensus was that this Outdoor Ventures jacket actually looked the sleekest and most slimming because it was all uniform in color. It has an interior drawstring you can pull to cinch in the waist for figure shaping without the added distraction of a belt. It has a removable hood which was a big deal to me because I have long hair and I hate the look of a big lumpy hood under my hair. Plus I was all set with my cute pageboy hat and tartan scarf. So while the hood was pointless for this trip, it could be useful in the future. I love that the pockets zip for safety and also the angle of the opening. Several of the pockets on the other jackets I tried were cute but awkward to actually put your hands in. These pockets are at an angle which are attractive, comfortable, and useful. There are interior pockets which have no closure but are deep and are perfect for quickly putting away things like gloves. This jacket held up to rain and cold breezes. Oh! and the feature I never knew I needed: a two-way zipper. When you're all zipped up for warmth but need to sit down, you can open just the bottom end of the zipper to make sitting comfortable. This was such a useful feature. I only have one complaint about this jacket. I wish the lining was black. The gray gives it a little more casual look. But everything else about this jacket was so outstanding, I decided I couldn't live without it. Its one of my most favorite things I've ever bought on Amazon. And it was less than 1/2 the price of all the other jackets I tried. It really is kind of perfect.

Great Buy
I received my jacket today, and I am very impressed. The quality is excellent. The outer material is nice and the inner fleece is soft. The jacket is a good weight and will be perfect for spring or fall. The hood is nice and deep. I debated between a size medium and large, and went with the larger size. It is a nice fit and the draw string inside allows you to adjust the fit. The medium would have fit, but I like that the large leaves a little room for a sweater or layers. The length is nice too as it covers your bum. I haven’t worn it yet, so I can’t speak to that aspect of the jacket, but I’m very pleased with my purchase so far.

Love this coat
I read numerous glowing reviews and I have to concur, it's a beautiful coat. Nice light weight but on Vancouver Island I think it will almost serve as a winter coat. Very good quality. The inside lining, although the color is a bit of a miss for the look it's super cozy. Has everything I like in a coat, 2 way zip, detachable hood, waterproof and gorgeous fabric. Also the price is right, not too expensive
