Power Grout Dove Gray

I'm providing this review after using the product on 600 sq ft+ of 12x20 floor tile and stone mosaic shower tile. I appreciate the frustrations and disappointment expressed by other reviewers and how hard a redo of a job that must have been, but my experience is not the same.I bought this product elsewhere and it worked well - it does set up fast, the color is uniform throughout, and it's a bit harder to clean up compared to "regular" grout. I am a DIYer but I had some training from the pros (hopefully I remembered most of what they taught me).My grout set up in an hour and you could walk on in a 4-5 hours for both jobs. I just did the shower floor yesterday, finishing up in the afternoon and its hard as a rock the following morning. The 600 sq ft living room job was completed a few months ago and looks great.The ONE DETRACTION I experienced is that the grout requires sealant. The living room grout will absorb water (and stains), so I sealed it.The pic below is the 3x5 shower floor after 12 hours. Take note that the tile is still "dirty" as I didnt clean it promptly. Im going to wait a few days then use a gentle-ish tile cleaner and seal it. Should be fine.

I have used this product on 5 projects now. The first time I used it I didn't follow the directions; I am used to working with mortar and grout and have always been good at judging when enough water has been applied during mixing... You can't do that with this product. DO NOT ADD MORE THAN THE RECOMMENDED WATER VOLUME! If you add more than the recommended volume of water the grout will not harden completely. It will look hard, but as soon as it gets wet it will wash away... Not fun, I removed grout for 16 hours. After talking with my local supplier I decided to try again, but this time I follow the directions on the bag exactly. I have been very happy with the results, enough so that I have used it on four more projects. I'm not convinced that it doesn't require sealing, but it is highly crack resistant and that is what I needed more than anything.I'm giving it 3 stars, not because it isn't a great product, but because the product is very unforgiving when not mixed to very exact specifications.

This is a terrible product and I strongly caution anyone against wasting their money on it!First, the color did NOT match the color sample I chose it off of! I also purchased a tube of sanded caulking by TEC to match the color I had chosen (which was Sable) and the caulking is SEVERAL shades darker then the grout!!! Both have had adequate time to cure. You can see the significant contrast in the photo I added. Caulking is the darker, horizontal line between the granite and the travertine mosaic. The caulk matches the color I chose!Second, this grout was nearly impossible to work with! I am a DIY homeowner, maybe the pros know tricks, but this grout began to set up in my bucket within 45 minutes of mixing it! It sets FAST once it starts and I could hardly work it into my grout lines at all! I mixed only a portion of the bag at a time; I had to continue adding water to be able to manipulate the material at all; and I had to entirely dump one of my batches after fighting to get it applied fast enough!Third, it DOES require sealing! After 3 weeks, I was still able to wipe off significant amounts of grout from the lines with a damp towel, and it was soaking up everything it came in contact with! I gave it 48 hours to cure before I used the surface, and it began showing lighter colored stains throughout the applied area within a few days!I used this grout on a granite tile counter top and am SO frustrated with this product! It was extremely expensive. I knew I needed to invest in a good grout, but this material is a SCAM! I purchased it from a local flooring retailer at the recommendation of the staff, AND STRONGLY REGRET my choice! None of the promises made by this manufacturer on their label were delivered!

The pictures speak for themselves - lots of mold from a product that claims it will do no such thing. This shower is 15 months old, but we saw signs of mildew within a few months. We are diligent about leaving the Panasonic vent fan (best in the industry) on for 30 minutes after a shower and open the window in the shower to let the steam out. Did not buy this product from Amazon, got it from the tile installer, but since I am so disappointed in it, I had to get the word out. We paid $50/bag when we could have paid $5/bag on standard grout and had the same end result. I am a kitchen & bath designer and this was the first time I had used this product. Just thankful it was my own home and not a clients. I do not recommend Power Grout at all!

This stuff is horrible. Its been a week since I applied it and if you drop some water on the grout line, you can EASILY remove the grout. I'm able to remove a 32nd of inch no problem and keep going. The grout is hard as nails dry, but get a little water on it and it melts like butter immediately. Never needs to be sealed??.....that is a complete lie. The grout absorbs water like a sponge. I am now looking at how to remove this already applied grout. I was done a grueling bathroom remodeling project and now I feel I am starting from square one.....it will take me countless weekends to remove this grout and I'm sure I'll damage the tile in the process. I feel like a complete sucker.....thanks TEC!
