Does this kit Include a launch pad and/ a controller with it? So the only thing that is missing is the engines the batteries for the controller?

No, it does not have a launch pad, controller or engines. All sold separately.

What’s the area needed in order to recover the glider? If it goes up to 700’ that glider needs a lot of room.

It all depends on wind conditions. I would allow at least 300-400 ft diameter.

How does the glider not get scorched during launch?

It is offset just enough not to burn the glider. It does scorch the top of the wire standoff apparatus, but not enough to ruin it. I have 5 flights on it, no scorch on the glider at all.
