This product is fantastic and is definitely the best on the market!!I've tested my share of chipping hammers and once I purchased this one, my search for a great product ended!!!I have put this chipping hammer to the test daily and it remains in excellent condition.If you are looking for a great chipping hammer that is durable and reliable, I'm telling you to look no further, I love the handle design and the hand grip is very comfortable. I advise everyone to stop wasting your money on those "spring-handle" chipping hammers, they are made from cheap steel and if you use them daily, you will always end up sharpening them nearly every 3-4 days until there's really no metal left to sharpen.After purchasing and using my first one, I've bought 3 additional Estwing BIG BLUE Welding/Chipping Hammers to give to my fellow welders as gifts!Thanks Again Estwing!!

I bought this to chip slag while welding and I have been blown away. The build quality is top notch and you hear a pretty metallic *ding* every-time you strike it. Reminding you it’s a solid, well built, forged hammer. Both ends are sharpened and keep their edge. You obviously don’t need this one over a normal chipping hammer, but you’ll love it every time.

This is by far the best chipping hammer I have ever had. With the quality craftsmanship that Estwing is known for I would probably never need to buy another one as long as I live.

Comfortable and takes a beating.
I'm just starting to learn welding, so I am making a lot of mistakes with a lot of slag left to deal with, often in crevices. I have beat this thing more than I'd like to admit, but it just keeps doing it's job. I think a smaller one would be nice to have for tight crevices, as I was welding round rod on round rod for making a firepit grate.
