Plate fixed my microwave's issue!
My daughter let me know a few days ago that the microwave was scaring her. That did not sound good so I took a look and sure enough, large sparks and small fires were forming on the wave guide cover. A quick search on the web informed me that the plate needed to be replaced. I had never had to replace one of these before, and after measuring the old plate, I realized it was going to be difficult to find an exact match. So I went the universal route, making sure that the dimensions of the universal plate were larger than the full dimensions of the original plate. I received the wave guide cover quickly and they were sized correctly. I laid it behind my original plate and traced away. They appear to be of good quality and were fairly easy to cut with scissors and a utility knife for in-between the tabs. It was also easy to install. Now, my microwave works as intended and no longer scares my daughter... or me. Good product!

Easy to cut to shape for my microwave
My microwave's waveguide cover fell apart after years of use (I didn't even know what the piece was called or what it was for ... thank you internet, otherwise I would have purchased a whole new microwave). I couldn't find a replacement cover specific to my microwave model, but my search led me to these mica plate sheets. I cut a new cover out of one of the sheets, and when I realized it was still a little large, I trimmed it down. It was easy to cut and trim, and it has been working well in my microwave for 2 months now. I have tons of mica left over. A cheap repair that was simple to do. I am still going to give the review 5 stars because I only needed to use a small amount of the Mica, and have plenty left over..... BUT I WILL NOTE THE FOLLOWING: the product page said that this contained 4 pieces of Mica, but the package I received only had 3 pieces of Mica in it. I only used a portion of one sheet, and thus it wasn't worth me complaining to Amazon (since I have no need for the other sheets that I got anyway), but in case others are regularly getting shortchanged so to speak, I thought I'd mention here that I only got 3 pieces.

Worked great
We had a fire in the microwave and learned that this specialty item covers the microwave beam emitter (forgot the technical name of that item). I checked online and a with repair parts supplier. They wanted around fifty bucks for a replacement. I purchased these, cut one of them to the same shape, installed it and the microwave is up and operating again. You don’t need an appliance repairman to fix it for $150 or whatever. A good DIY job.

4 pieces came, I used 1. The other three will last the rest of my life.
the package arrived safely. Four sheets. I traced what was left of the old broken one onto a 3x5 card, and trimmed it to fit perfectly, then used the 3 x 5 card to make a pattern on one of the four sheets. It cut easily with a sharp pair of scissors, and installed in about 5 minutes total. It cost about $6 to fix the microwave and it works perfectly. A factory mica was NLA and the old stock ones people wanted close to $50 with shipping so this was a great solution.

Saved me money!
Got a Mainstays microwave about a year ago and a few weeks ago it started occasionally jump-scaring my wife with loud sparks/arcs until eventually it started happening every single time we used it. Before we took the microwave in for maintenance, I decided to check online for alternatives and voila - found this cheap and easy solution. I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but a few weeks of daily usage later and no sparks! The boards were more than big enough and were easy to cut after tracing my original cover (just be careful not to bend it, it feels like it could snap). I couldn't see how badly burned it was until I saw the inside. I've included pictures of the before and after. I did slightly sand down the metal where it was burned using high-grit sandpaper, just to be sure there were no peaks, but I can't know if that made a difference. Bottom line: try this before repairing or getting a new microwave. It's so cheap, you don't really have much to lose!

Saved Me at the Last Minute
When my eight year old Emerson microwave started sparking and doing what seemed like opening a new portal to another dimension, I was worried it was time to ditch it and get a new one. Well, after a little research on YouTube, I learned this happens when that paper-thin piece of cardboard (the one you always wondered what it did) becomes too soaked with grease and butter, and it starts to seep in to the motor on the other side. This piece is a protective barrier for the motor, preventing it from getting dirty or wet. When the motor does get wet, the debris conducts electricity and causes it to arc. This is VERY dangerous, but no need to worry, all you need to do is order these mica sheets. Then, you take out the old dirty one from the inside of the microwave and trace it with a pencil on the new mica sheet. Cut it with scissors and then insert it where the old one used to be. That's it! Saves you hundreds of dollars on a new microwave and also keeps another electronic appliance out of the landfill. Since my original mica sheet lasted eight years, this set of four should last you longer than you could ever imagine!

Works like a charm, but cutting may be challenging. Consider using a penknife rather than a scissors My Microwave is back working again!
