Q: Is it safe to use with a non-gel polish base or top coat?

Sure. You can mix regular polish and gels. Mileage may vary, but just make sure regular polish is very dry before you put anything on top of it. Same with the gel. Make sure it’s cured all the way and then I personally would wipe down the sticky layer before topping with any other polish or top coat, I think.

Q: How do you get the rainbow effect? I tried with the supplied magnet but couldn’t get anything to move in the polish.

Paint and float magnet near the nail on the sides and front so it shows more on top or over on top of nail!!
