Alcohol is a driying agent why is this in the ingredients

Cetearyl Alcohol (Cetyl + Stearyl Alcohol) is a fatty alcohol that is an organic compound derived from coconut, palm, corn, soy or coconut palm trees and acts as a great emollient, emulsifier and amazing moisturizer. Fatty alcohols (aka high molecular alcohols) are a hybrid between alcohols and fatty oils and they are completely different to regular alcohols like ethanol (aka low molecular alcohols). There is often a misconception when the word alcohol is seen that it will dry out hair and skin, when the complete opposite is true. Fatty alcohols don’t have the same drying effect on hair and skin like more commonly known low molecular alcohols because of their structure. Because of their unique structure, fatty alcohols trap water and provides a soothing and moisturizing feel to the skin and hair. Isn’t phenoxyethanol toxic?

Hello Mistya Thank you for asking the question, we believe reviewing every ingredient is extremely important so that you know what you are purchasing. Phenoxyethanol occurs naturally in green tea but can also be man-made in a lab to create a nature like ingredient. The main purpose and goal for this ingredient is to fight off bacteria. Because we use plant derived ingredients in our products it can create a breeding ground for bacteria even to the point where the product will appear and smell fine but crawling with bacteria which would be un safe. By using a very small amount of Phenoxyethanol it acts as a biodegradable preservative, far better than the most used alternatives, parabens and formaldehyde which we would never use in any of our products. Phenoxyethanol is extremely safe at low levels of up to 1%. Japan and the Cosmetics Regulation of the European Union (which has more stringent and protective laws for cosmetics than any other region globally) approved phenoxyethanol in concentrations up to 1 percent. Aside from that, Whole Foods has also deemed the ingredient acceptable in its body care quality standards and the Cosmetics Ingredient Review Panel reviewed the available data in 1990 and 2007 and have indicated that it’s safe for its approved uses up to 1%. There is a misconception around this ingredient because most studies have found negative effects on full 100% strength use. On actual usage the amount is extremely small and that is why the ingredient is approved at 1% by the FDA. We go a step further and use less than the global approved percentage in our detangler. Is this good for getting rid of frizzy hair?

To get the best results this is what I recommend. - Wash your or your little ones hair in slightly lower temp water - Use a conditioning shampoo - Towel dry slightly - Use a wide tooth comb - Apply Lane & Co Conditioning Detangler and work through the hair root to tip an continue combing I hope this helps and answers your question. I love this detangler. It smells soo good! You don’t need a lot and it works so well! It leaves hair very soft and in my opinion is not greasy! It sprays well and a little goes along well. I also love that it’s less toxic than others!

LOVE! This works so great for our daughter. It smells delicious, as our nephew said “her hair smells like cookies”. I don’t need to use a lot, but even if I do, or if we go a few days between washes and it’s been applied several times, it’s not greasy. I love the ingredients! Our daughter has very long fine hair, and it tangles so easily, this has saved lots of tears. I just bought my second bottle! It lasted us 6 months of using it every day on her waist length hair. Will definitely keep purchasing!

Smells good and is truly a smooth lotion that doesn’t weigh down my baby’s hair or create buildup. The only downside which didn’t really bother me but it might bother others is that the product is too thick for the spray nozzle so it jams up or builds up on the spray nozzle. Once you twist the top off, the detangler cream itself does miracles for my son’s mixed baby curls. His loose curls are in the front and he has very tight curls in the back and this detangler has his hair brush gliding right through with zero snags. Absolutely recommend this especially for mixed babies with tender heads.

This product works good. Although it’s not my favorite scent, it does do a good job at detangling my son’s fine coily hair. I use it in the tub on wet hair when he has some tough knots or I’ll spray it on dry hair when I need to style it for the day. Works on both!
