I used these perfect plates to feed my cats! These plates work perfectly for my house cats as well as my feral cats. They are sturdy, colorful (so they show up when I feed my outside cats in the back yard), and have a long life span. (I have had one set of these plates for 3 years now. I only ordered the second set because I needed more!)

Not what I thought I was ordering. This was my fault, smaller than I thought, about the size of a hamburger bun. Wanted more of a luncheon plates size. Passed the smaller ones to my 4 year old granddaughter. She absolutely loves them. Then I ordered 8 and a half inch plates and they are perfect. They can go into dishes washer, microwave oven and come back the same as going in. Fun colors no fading. Lip on edge make them easy to handle

For years we used natural woven wicker/rattan paper plate holders with paper plates (coated, which are lightly wipeable and last longer) that we reused until they couldn't be anymore, usually between 4 and 6 times before discarding. It was a good system, until it suddenly became impossible to find wicker plate holders that weren't splintery garbage. I had a set that lasted, I kid you not, for 20 years! And I've replaced them twice since, and neither batch stayed in one piece for more than a few months before most were frayed with the bottom dropping out. And now you can't even find natural woven holders because of the push to replace everything with plastic. I ran across these wheat straw plates, which have advantages over melamine or plastic but a few drawbacks. Pros: Lightweight and easy to hold Upcurved edges good for carrying food and eating away from table Nontoxic and made with plant byproducts as well as plastic not made from trees sturdier than paper plates on holders microwave and dishwasher safe probably not 'unbreakable' but they seem quite durable *for their weight* nice colors Cons: not recyclable nor completely biodegradable (part polypropylene) knives scratch them easily (so cut the food on something else first) The upcurved edges take up more space if you want to store them vertically (plate rack) I'm pretty pleased with these for what they are but I think people get the wrong idea about how earth-friendly they are. I suspect folks will treat them as short-life disposables or try to recycle them because most people don't read the details. They are however a better choice for us than melamine or plastic, and seem as if they'll be more durable as well. I'd thought to maybe use them as a substitute for the wicker paper plate holders but the upcurved edges make them a poor fit. It seems all (or most) of these kinds of plates have that kind of edge, and I suspect it's because it makes the plate more structurally stable. So long as you understand what they are and aren't, these can be a smallER-footprint choice over "recyclable" plastic (which doesn't really get meaningfully recycled) or melamine. Just treat them gently so they last a long time.

I was specifically looking for smaller, deeper plates for my chihuahua to eat from. These are a great size for that! Enough room for a handful of kibble and even would fit some wet food if you slide the kibble over a little. Not quite as deep as I thought, but definitely enough to allow him to eat and root through without the food going into the floor. They are a semi-matte finish which will be easy to hand wash without stuff sticking too much. They are mostly rigid with the tiniest bit of give, so should be fairly durable. Would be a great size and depth for a toddler as well! Or a snack plate. For pets, definitely make sure they aren't chewers though! They could chew bits off if they really went at it. Other than that I think they'll be great! And you get 6 for (at the time) $6.99 plus tax- even if you found this size and shape at the dollar (& a quarter) tree, it'd be hard to beat this price.

My sister recommended these plates to me and I bought them to save on the cost of paper plates. I normally buy the 8 1/2 inch Dixie paper plates. The center of the 8 1/2 inch Dixie paper plate is the same size as this plate so it made the perfect substitute. I love the raised edges as it keeps food from spilling or slipping off the plate. I love the color variations. If you use a sharp knife to cut something on this plate, it will make a mark on the plate. That is to be expected due to the nature of the material. I also like the fact that they are light weight and not easily broken and can be used in the microwave. If you need a larger plate, they do sell a 9 inch and a 10 inch size plate. They also sell a smaller 6 inch size. I also bought the 9 inch size which has a matte finish and not the glossy shiny finish that the 6 inch and 7 inch sizes have. I think they should include that in the description. You can see in the picture of the difference in the finish between the 7 inch and the 9 inch size.

I was super leery at first but when these plates arrived the kids and hubby put them through the wringer. Dishwasher, microwave, hot food. They were dropped, not so much as a dent in them. Customer service was super nice and helpful! It was bitterly cold when they arrived and one plate did have a crack in it. I messaged asking how to repair it because I loved them and didn't want to send them back. They were so kind and sent a full replacement set. My suspicion is they are amazing for heat but can become a bit brittle if they are frozen. I wouldn't put these in the freezer too long, for whatever reason. Cute colors, true to the pictures and the higher walls make for much less mess and spills I went and ordered the bowls and ramekins after I got the plates. Really cool product!

I just received this order today and I like the colors and the plates look like they are kid friendly and scratch resistant but I don’t like the size, it’s too small and I would not order again.

After doing a lot of research and reading all the reviews I finally decided to order these plates. We've had them for a few weeks now so I've had plenty of time to use them and clean them several times over and I'm very happy to report they were well worth every cent I spent on them. Even after all the servings of tomato based sauces, they haven't stained. Nor have they melted or bent out of shape after all the times they've spent in dishwasher. I originally bought them just for the children to use but they're so light, practical and comfortable to hold all the grown ups use them now as well.
