WonderArtClassics Cardinal Latch Hook Kit, 20" x 30"

This was the first latch hook I had done in more than 40 years and although it did not have the pattern stamped on the fabric as stated, that probably turned out to be a good thing as subsequent kits ordered (different supplier) that did have patterns stamped were fraught with errors. Picture is of partially completed rug so that you can see what you are getting. Absolutely gorgeous, now that it is complete. All that is left is to bind it and hang it. Other kits I've found of this size were significantly more expensive and not nearly as attractive. My only criticism (suggestion) is to not worry about tossing yarn if it is "too long" (many pieces are) and there is more than enough. However, I didn't know this so ended up doing quite a bit of trim work on the finished product.

I ended up gifting this to my mom, who loves barns, and I had a blast doing it. I hadn't done latch hook since I was a kid, so it was fun to do this. Very nostalgic! The picture I created with the yarns came out so nice! It is a BIG project though so set aside a month or two to get it accomplished.

I received my kit yesterday, so anxious to get it, only to discover that the description of what was included in the kit to be false. It says it contains "color coded canvas" along with the pre-cut yarn & instructions. No so, the canvas was only marked in squares. I spent a very long time on various sites to find a latch hook kit that had a printed canvas, or so I thought that was what I was getting. After further investigating yesterday scrolled down a few pages and discovered a "product description" of this same kit that said "kit contains canvas, pre-cut rug yarn & instructions. I can not return it as I took the plastic off the box. This obviously has no reflection on Amazon but the company that makes the product "Wonderart". Poor advertising on their part.

Very good for the money

The product is fine.However the product description says the canvas is stamped. The canvas is not color coded stamped as some may think. It is just stamped with blue squares to make counting easier when using the chart. See attached picture It has come to my attention that the manufacture of all the popular latch hook kits stopped stamping the canvas with the color illustration about 2 years ago. If someone happens to have a color coded stamped canvas its from older stock. So a kit this size would not be for a beginner. The only issue I had with this particular kit was it was difficult to see the black and green on the color chart. The person who created this should have made the instructions in black and white with various symbols. The chart is pretty in color but difficult to read in the beginning.

This was my very first latch hook kit that I have ever done. It did not come with the actual latch hook itself I had to buy that which was kind of a disappointment. The kit itself only took me a few months to complete.. I would of liked to see one that came with the yarn to put a border around the finished product. But I had yarn left over from another project that I used & I am putting a border on this myself. I have gotten a lot of complements on this latch hook kit plus it was very relaxing to sit in the evenings & work on this kit. Now I have to find another one to do!

Bought one before and I liked it so much I bought another one. It's easy to do. I do use a light with a magnifying glass to read the grids of colors. I separate the colors and put them in a plastic bags.Highly recommend this and the price is great 👍

The product was delivered on time but I was a little disappointed! When I opened it up and tried to begin working with it the instruction sheet where it show's you how the colors go on the mat were hard to see. The dark green is very hard to see on the instructions and I actually had to take a magnifying glass to it so I could make sure how many each row actually needed. Normally when I buy a latch work kit the colors are shown on the actual mat itself. The yarn itself does a lot of shedding as I am working with it. I doubt I would recommend this product to anyone!
