Ordered this over a year ago, and did not think I would ever have such strong feelings about a lap desk. I *love* this thing! The little features I wasn't even really considering are what make it awesome: the lip at the bottom to keep stuff from sliding off; the elastic band on the top corner to hold your pens/notes/other small stuff you want to prevent from escaping; the slot at the top to stand your cell phone so you can see it (or stash your other pens/chapstick/paperclips/etc.). It's very comfortable and molds easily to my lap while remaining stable. Worth every penny.

When he got a tablet computer also I showed him how my lap desk worked and he loved it - so much that I had to get this to get mine back. (mine is a turquoise color and wood color desktop) I have had mine 2 years - I know this because I got it from Amazon & because I had to look it up to get his. I see almost no wear and tear on mine and it keeps the computer and my lap from getting overheated. It is large enough for using the mice on the surface and very light so it doesn't feel like you have a heavy object in your lap. His is black plaid like his Scotts clan with a black desktop. I like the bar that keeps the computer from sliding down into your lap, and the groove ditch - supposedly to hold tablet or cell phone, but it is great for the flash drives and pens and pokey thing pens for screens. It has a nice handle on the top, but I end up just picking up the whole thing with the computer and setting it aside when needed. Very handy!

I have a chromebook tablet with a detachable keyboard that works great when I'm on a table, but I discovered pretty quickly that it's terribly uncomfortable to rest on my lap - the keyboard isn't sturdy enough to support the tablet so the result is a lot of wobbling. I was so fed up with it that I was thinking of selling the tablet for a regular laptop, but I figured I might as well try a lap desk first and see if it helps.I am not joking when I say this lap desk single-handedly saved me the headache of buying a new laptop. Months later, I am still shocked at how comfortable and sturdy it is, and I no longer struggle to type on my tablet keyboard. I've used lap desks in the past but none of them were anywhere near as good as this one. Whoever at LapGear came up with this design deserves a raise.

As an introvert, I have a bad habit of hiding in my bedroom all day and doing my own thing. I tend to sit on my bed, as I don't own a chair lol, and play video games, continue my hobby of writing stories, eating snacks, etc.This lapdesk makes doing all of those things way better. It's the perfect size for me to sit with my legs crossed and have this in my lap. It's also comfortable and the bean bag let's it sit nice and level, perfect for eating, writing, and even having a keyboard and mouse on it.The desk even has a spot to keep my pen so I don't lose it, as I tend to do more than I want to admit. The elastic strap at the top holds in my papers, so I don't have to set them off to the side where they'll inevitably get ruined. I've even grown to like the piece of plastic at the bottom to keep things from sliding off towards me.Overall, I can't believe I didn't buy this thing sooner! Stop thinking and just buy it already! You won't regret it!

What I love: a sturdy writing surface that isn’t too textured, the phone holder works great (I also stack two pens in it). The anti slip bar is small enough to not get fully in the way of typing or writing. The cushioning underneath is packed well and comfortable.Mine is getting scuffed up easily but that can’t be entirely unavoidable. Overall, this one was a great choice for my college work, and I believe it will last a long time.
