Where is the software for this radio? i have the cable but its not supported yet by chirp!

i used chirp, and it worked fine.

How does this model compare to the uv-9r plus model?

I like it better than the 9R+ even though I own both. The Pro is water resistant (I'm a klutz) and drop resistant. It has a different programming/headset connector so you need a new cable. Its brightly colored and comes in a series of colors so your radio will not get lost in a crowd at the Hamfest!

Do they transcieve on GMS/GRMS freq range?

Yes. You can program whatever frequency you want right from the keypad. It's a bit of a learning curve, but way easier than using CHIRP.
