Nice diving spool
Haven't used it yet, but set it up for future dives. Following some online videos of how to set up a dive spool properly, it worked quite well.Pros: It comes with enough line to use during any open water certified dive. If you need longer line, you'll need a bigger spool. The line looks like good quality, was easy to untie and set up properly to attach the boltsnap.Cons: The spool is a little small for the amount of line you use. I wanted something with 60 feet so that I could extend it if I am at the bottom limit of my certification. To do it all over again, I'd likely buy one with 100 feet of line, which I could trim down to the length I needed, leaving the holes completely exposed.Overall, a good product, and I give it 5 stars

For the price, it’s perfect
I take this on my dives for security measures (backup) but didn’t use it.I used the hook for other gear and it was easy to use.Didn’t want to pay for overpriced reels since I’m not using it often and keep it for emergency. Not too bulky not too heavy.Would recommend.

good value for floatation
The brass hook is only plated but will work. The orange line held up in my training tests. The real has teeth on the side and yes although not aluminum it is much cheaper and does the same thing. I would advise taking about 2 feet off the line so that you can actually hook the reel thru the circular holes on the side. I would say not the best but it will do.

Perfect for travel
I bought this for travel, to save weight from my bulky stainless steel one. I removed half the line and kept just enough to use on my safely stops.

Cheep but as advertised
The spool is made of cheap flimsy plastic but the clasp appears to be solid brass and the string is of standard size.
