This works perfectly. I use it in my coal stove to start the fire. It takes about 30 minutes for the coal to catch, but that is about the same amount of time doing it other ways, just without the work.

This gets plenty hot to light chunk charcoal in green egg type grill. I've used it and it preforms as advertised. I would like to see a heavier cord, I don't remember the gauge of wire but I think it should be at least 14 or even better 12 gauge. My wire got slightly warm during use--not hot not dangerous but warm--an indication of being undersized. It would certainly be helpful if cord was five feet. Three feet will almost require an extension cord. Even with cord issue, I'd purchase again

Needed to replace a previous charcoal starter and came across this product. My husband likes that it has more surface area to come in contact with the coals, and because of that he underestimated how quickly it would get things going! Worked exactly as it should and will get a lot of use at our house. We live in southwest Florida and run the grill and smoker year-round. Helped to quickly get things started and couldn't beat the price.
