Wonderful book
“The Twenty Fourth Mile” celebrates the inspiring story of a life lived on both personal and professional levels, with the highest degree of rectitude. These experiences of Dr. Jehangir Anklesaria and his family validate the words of Nathalia Crane, “You cannot choose your battlefield; the gods do that for you. But you can plant your standard where a standard never flew.”The straight-forward and simple prose of Tehmton S. Mistry flows wonderfully easy taking the reader - almost physically - into unfolding events. The pages turn themselves. To grasp the reality of war this is a must-read for today’s younger generation preoccupied with the internet.Another effort from this excellent author would be most welcome.

Well-written and compelling story about a heroic doctor in Burma during WWII
Thoroughly enjoyed this well-written, fascinating story about a humble and heroic doctor working in Burma during WWII called to risk his life to save others as Japan threatens to take control of Burma. Was not familiar with how WWII impacted Burma so this story was interesting on a historical level as well as the human interest appeal.

Very well written
Tehmton Mistry is a qualified doctor' He might have chosen to be a writer. This, his first book, is exceptionally well written. It is amazing to see the great amount of research he has put in before writing he book. His visit to Burma must have given him a deep insight into the geography of the country and and its people. The book is easy to read and is exceptionally well written
