This is a simple adapter that lets you plug USB A type plugs into a USB B socket. It works as intended and is good value.

This product sucks. It has USB data pins, power and ground but it's not properly shielded. I tested it with my USB cable tester and it noted the shields where not connected. That's a requirement of the USB spec. Bad adapter. Edit: I amended my review to one star because of the customer service experience. I tried to return it but it stated the item was not returnable. They didn't state a reason why. When I checked the policy on it, it stated things to the effect of, perishable items, medical items, less than $3, etc. This item did not apply to any of these things. There is no reason why it should not be returnable since I've returned similar items before. Afterward they did give me a refund and told me to keep item. Item is going in TRASH! They still need to give detail reason in description why something is not returnable.

this was an excellent buy for what I was trying to do but the idea didn't work out at all buuuuuuut I will be keep this thing a while incase I need it for something else

Great product, as expected. We use this tablet is connected to the monitor and it works perfectly. Good price, delivery time frame is good, the quality is good. So overall a good product and a good buy!

The USB A Female to USB B Male works great for my application. I use it to connect a USB A cable to the USB B port on a projector. It transmits both video and audio (single speaker on the projector). USB A cable and ports were hard installed in the wall and ceiling to connect a computer and projector. Only after receiving the projector was it learned USB B was required for proper operation. This simple connector solved an otherwise troublesome problem.

I didn't really use this product after I found out it didn't work for my application. The adapter seems solid and should work really well for other uses if I need it. Other than not really needing it for my uses, it seems great!

This seems to be configured right for USB but it has a strange housing on the B side that makes it impossible to use on my scanner which has a totally enclosed B connector. The B side USB has an appendage that looks somewhat like a micro-USB but interferes with insertion into the scanner rendering it useless for my purpose.

As several others have posted here, this is a useless item. There's no mention of a no return policy until after it's purchased. Mine was dead on arrival. It's such a simple device -- just four wires to convert between two different USB connectors with four contacts each. I tested mine with a multimeter after it didn't work on two different devices. Only three of the four contacts had continuity between the two sides and two from one side were connected to a single contact on the second side ! After complaining to Amazon and getting a refund, I decided to take it apart. I found several issues. On one side, two wires were touching where the insulation had been stripped for soldering. This caused the 2 to 1 continuity I found. Four of the solder joints were cold soldered, so poor or no electrical contact was made between the wire and connector. And lastly, one wire had been pulled out of the cold solder joint when the wires were twisted to make it fit in the plastic casing. All in all, extremely poor manufacturing, even for a $5 part. Sadly, mine will be headed for the landfill soon.
