Flicker and flame
I really enjoyed reading and listening to this book. She has spent her life thinking that she is just a plain old human, until a chance encounter at a bar, then the world as she knows it changesThe narrators do an amazing job

Romance Action and Fantasy
A real slow-burn RH but has the action and intrigue to enthrall readers. In a world where a Queen rules over humans and non-humans, things are not all that perfect. A sickness has taken over the shifters and people are subjected to ‘voluntary’ testing. Not to mention that many feel the Queen is not the rightful heir.Kenna thinks she’s a regular human when a chance meeting with four incredibly hot men awakens her powers. Before she knows it, her life changes and is under threat from someone from her past. The story is a little a predictable about who Keena is but I enjoyed it. The men - Callum, Teo, Luka, and Kia - are each frustratingly adorable in their own ways. Love their dynamic with each other as well with her.

Wonderful New Series
Flicker and Flame: Magic Bound Book One by Willow Hayes is a wonderful story to read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series that I have loved reading very much. I can not wait to read the rest of this wonderful series that I am so hooked on. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about reverse harems and magic.

Terrible beginning but slowly improves.
I was about ready to DNF this book for quite a while. Thankfully, the story slowly improved. I have to admit though, Kenna (FMC) is still not my favorite. I kinda want to bash her face in to give her something better to cry about. This girl…she runs away from everything, she deny’s everything, and she cries about everything. Then she runs her mouth all cocky-like and pretends to be a tough girl. Bi*ch, if you were tough, you wouldn’t be such a coward.Anyway, please refer to my notes and highlights for more. I’ll write a full review at the end of the series…if I make it that far.

WOW!! Loved this start to a new series.
Oh wow, I so very much enjoyed this new start to a new series.Jenna has not had an easy life with having lost memories, being in not good foster homes and abusive foster parents. But she rises above her past and makes something of herself to help others. She is a social worker, who is not going to let kids slip through like she did. One night out on the town with her friend turns her life up side down. Welcome to her new life.Guys, this was really so, so good. I could not put my kindle down. I cannot wait to find out how Jenna deals with everything that is going to be coming her way. She is such a fun female lead and I found myself rooting for her from the beginning. Would highly recommend.

“Red represents an affinity for Fire and green for Earth. It appears as though you have two types of magic.”
This was an interesting approach to a reverse harem. Filled with a lot of fear and unknowns, this heroine, Kenna, has a background of being a foster child. As a social worker now, she tries to make the lives of children , in the system, better. Her best friend is a Dread but Kenna believes she has no magic. While they are clubbing one night, she meets four incredibly attractive men. Her life is turned upside down. No spoilers but this story contains characters I could hate!

Just plain AWESOME!!!!
Having grown up in the foster system, Kenna is determined to help other kids like she had been. As if that wasn't hard enough, she also knows she's got no memories prior to roughly age six. Romantic relationships have never appealed to her due to trust issues and past events from foster care. Little did she know that a night out with her roomie/BFF would change her life in unimaginable ways. For that night magic would find its way into her life in many ways. This book is filled with hunky, protective men, supernaturals galore, and one bada$$, feisty, determined, big hearted, just plain awesome female who fights for the underdogs and those she loves. Watch as secrets are revealed, love blossoms, and her new reality becomes.crystal.clear. This definitely left me desperate for book two!!

A slow read, but everything comes together so perfectly!
I needed some time to get into this book and it's hard to pinpoint why exactly. We witness our heroine train and work and fail and learn and grow. I found the plot aspect of this first book therefore quite thin. And then we reached the finale. Everything came together. Most characters will only get their true chance to shine and show off now, in the next books. And then there are all the characters and key players we haven't met yet. It's clearly the first book in a fantasy series with mostly build up, but I have high hopes the second book will be very awesome!

Great start!
Just so you know this book is a slow-burn so they aren't instantly gonna get it on, but the build-up is oh so sweet!! There is such promise for the books to comeThe relationship development is a lot more real than insta-love and takes into account the heroine's background. This is where the slow-burn really shines because when they get there it's going to make the wait so worth it!The depth of the characters is absolutely brilliant for the first in a series. There is fantastic detail and each character has their time to shine. You really get a feel for Kenna and her life, there is a lot of sass bundled up in her and I love it! She hasn’t had the easiest upbringing and is determined to make things better for the kids under her care. As for her guys, the author makes a point to hook us from the start with them, and then she shines some light onto each one of them at a time. There is fantastic chemistry between Kenna and her guys that make you laugh along with them and root for them when things go wrong. Along with some fabulous side characters you have fun reading this story. The world-building is really exciting. We get to learn how each race views each other and how they have to live in harmony. We see how the dynamics have been skewed and are being abused by those in power. As Kenna learns more about herself and her past, which the memories remained dormant until the fated night she meets her boys; she reconciles to fix the broken system.A fantastic start to a series and I’m about to jump into book 2!!! I can’t wait to see what happens and how this group is going to react. So it’s time to stop reading this review and download the book

Hmm not sure
Never read anything by this author before and the blurb sounded pretty good so, I found the story overall a pretty good one, but did struggle to get into it for the first couple of chapters. Why? No idea it just didn't jump out at me to keep reading I left it twice in the first chapter. I was tempted to jump several pages but I decided to carry on regardles. The story tells of a young woman who assumes she is just a human but finds she's actually from magical descent and how she unlocks her full potential is something different. It's a reverse harem story which is bordering on being painfully slow, not a major problem, but sometimes she just a little annoyingly childlike and for someone supposed to be mid twenties and with a messed up childhood already behind her a bit difficult to come to terms with. Overall it's a good story unfolding and I will follow up with the second book, but please, please someone proof read it so many spelling mistakes around the 75% mark

Slow burn RH with a great story
This is book 1 of the series and is a slow burn RH.I love this story, it kept me hooked from the beginning. Kenna is social worker, determined to help kids in the same foster system she suffered through. A chance meeting in a nightclub changes everything.I loved Kenna as a character, she was tough and determined but also vulnerable and willing to learn more. The guys were also great, having worked together for years they are already a tight knit group. You get to know all the characters really well and can easily see how their relationships are developing. It was refreshing to see them getting to know each other rather than jumping straight into bed the second they meet. The story is told at a great pace, you find out as you go along which allows you to really understand what is happening instead of a complete information dump in one chapter where half is forgotten.I'm really looking forward to reading more in the series.

Interesting slow burn PNR
This is a very interesting slow burn PNR RH which kept me hooked throughout. Our FMC Kenna has had this really rough childhood, we see her overcoming her issues that’s come from that trauma and gaining trust by opening up to her men. The men all have their own personality traits and are well developed characters but as bad as it is I’m totally in love with Akito her kitsune familiar (he’s not really a pet he’s too cute!) the most! The overall story is a bit of a PNR Anastasia but it really kinda works in a way that I wouldn’t of thought it would. I’m definitely looking forward to book number two!
