BePuzzled | Chain Hanayama Metal Brainteaser Puzzle Mensa Rated Level 6, for Ages 12 and Up

Hanayama's Chain puzzle is exquisitely crafted, has some serious weight, and will definitely drive you nuts. It took me about 3 hours to figure out the first significant move, even after I had spent a lot of time looking at the pieces and how I thought they should fit together. Definitely a very difficult and very satisfying puzzle.

As any other Hanayama puzzle, it becomes your friend or enemy. Your perseverance will show which of the two.

Liked the puzzle, very well constructed. but I won't give it a 5-star as this one is far too easy for a level-6 puzzle.I have 8 hanayama puzzle so far , 5 level-6 puzzle, 2 level-5 and 1 level-4 , but this one took me least time to figure out among those 8 - around 30 min.Probably it's more of a level-4 puzzle. You kind of figure-out the solution method quickly -- and take little bit more to execute it.It is a 5-star if the puzzle was marked as level-4.

This is the second level six puzzle I have obtained. I got enigma as a present but bought this one, chain, since it was on sale and fairly inexpensive. I think it was four dollars when I bought it and that was well worth it. It took me significantly less time to figure out than enigma but still took me several days to figure out. But I only played with it a few minutes at a time. I like that it’s a multi step puzzle. I could see semi early on how it was meant to, part but struggled with getting it to be in the right position to make that happen. Once it is a part it’s easy to get it back to original position I think. Whereas with enigma I have taken it apart and put it together several times but have yet to be able to do it without making at least one mistake. I probably spent an hour or two on chain total but not sure since I only spent a few minutes at a time working on it. But enigma I Spent hours working on the original solution over the span of weeks and have played with it for hours since then trying to solve it more quickly each time. I am somewhat new to these types of puzzles so someone more experienced would probably be able to do them much quicker. I just got elk and have not solved it yet I don’t think I will like it as much as the other two but we will see.

Very nicely built puzzles. I've had a few over the years and never had this 'chain' one so gave it a try.Nicely built - edges are clean and being made with cast iron I know these will last a long time.Numbers are clearly marked on the links and the notch on the 2 links that need them are in right place, fit together well enough and works as designed.And yes- this puzzle is solvable. Don't give up and look online for an answer - its worth the effort to figure it out yourself.Would recommend !

There is no solution included, just a vague statement that is useless. I bet a real one exists on YouTube. I do not like being lied to. Anyhow, build quality is OK. They make better ones in terms of quality, eg. Equa, is nicely constricted but actually shiny black not silver as shown. With this version you have to fight the piece more than my older one. Color tone is different but that could be aging on my old copy. I find Equa more interesting. This one feel more like a chore to solve. Do this, do that, blah, blah, blah. No elegance.

Great brain teaser

Is a very clever puzzle. I would personally rate this one a Level 4 since I got it apart and back together in less that an hour. But I've read others had a much harder time, so maybe this one just clicked with me. But once you see the solution, it's a piece of cake.
