Jimmy Veeder and Bobby Maves ride again! Oh how I love these two characters!Off they go again on yet another badly planned and poorly organised Mavescapade (you have to read the books to find out!) I say poorly organised as their willingness to use extreme violence is always there...along with Bobbys usual bag of weapons!I will not give away the story line at all except to say that this second book featuring these two 'heroes' looks like it may be the last one,I hasten to add not because of either one of them meeting an untimely end! This book, like the authors other two yarns is very very funny,with sad moments and parts of extreme violence!I absolutely loved it! Please Johnny Shaw write another Mavescapade!

Johnny Shaw has become my new god. I have completed his catalog of work in rapid time and am now downhearted that there is not more on offer...get writing Mr. Shaw. Don't break my heart! All others now pale by comparison. He is truly one of a kind. Exciting, funny, breathtaking action, plot, and character-driven novels with no challenger. If I could write like Johnny Shaw, I would be happier than anyone on earth. PLEASE, MORE!!!!!!!!

Enjoyed this, but not quite as much as Johnny Shaw's previous novel Dove Season. This is more a standard mission/caper story in the mould of Lansdale's Hap and Leonard books, whereas Dove Season was a rollercoaster ride of drama, comedy, emotion and even romance. But still, an enjoyable read, and Johnny Shaw is a writer to watch.

I am still reading this book, almost finished. It's so funny it is like a keystone cops movie, I'm really enjoying it. As I recall this author's last book was just as funny. I would always recommend his books to anyone,as long as the language is not an issue for them .

Decent credible plot, loveable main characters and crisp , entertaining writing style. A good find for an avid reader of action/crime books. This is a writer that I will follow.
