Good Faction Story.
Story covers the Nazi occupation of Vienna in the second world war. Factual elements interwoven with a governess's experiences.

Interesting and enjoyable.
Having read the first book it was good to catch up with Florence. I’ve visited Malta and know many of the places she went to. I knew that the island really suffered in the war, this book tells how bad it was. If you like novels about recent history you will enjoy this. It doesn’t really matter if you haven’t read the first book, this is a separate story, but it would help you to know the main characters. Enjoy!

Harrowing but couldn’t put it down
Well written . Evocative of the time . Conveyed the terror and hopelessness of people fleeing state bullying . Made the reader feel as if they’re on the journey with them . Only criticism is that it could have been longer . At the end it did seem to race to the happy ending
