Felt cheated
"You've been warned" would be a good title for a review of this book. I shelled out top dollar without a thought, because "you know exactly what you're getting" with a James Patterson book - top notch entertainment, grab it off the book-stand at the station without a second thought....This wasn't anything remotely like what I expected. To be fair, the writing is compelling and as craft-perfect as usual, but the story is - literally out of this world, the unbelievable is not a clever twist, but simply... unbelievable.Like my headline - I felt cheated.

Something a bit different!
Not what you would normally expect from Mr Patterson, still I had to keep turning the page to see what happens next!As with most of his novels you sort of get dragged along , think you have got it then BAM another twist. In the end a thoroughly enjoyable read, leaving you wanting more of the same or for the story to never end.

once opened this book will not be put down
If you're expecting You've Been Warned by James Patterson and Howard Roughan to be a 'typical' Patterson book, you're going to be disappointed.Sure, there are short chapters and a first person narrative. But, other than that it's not at all what you'd expect. The story revolves around a young woman in New York City who's got secrets in her past and present, obsessions for her camera and her married boyfriend, serious nightmares and who sees dead people. It's supernatural poppycock for the most part and the "surprise" ending wasn't that much of a surprise.Fortunately, it was a quick read but I have to say I could very happily have spent my time on something more productive and enjoyable.
