Q: Will this work for Warhammer 40k figures? Can you use it for detailed type of airbrushing? and is the machine long lasting?

I've only had this airbrush since Christmas. Did some practice since I've never done this. I want to use it for my 3D prints. I like it. The quality is good but not high-end. You probably want more than one airbrush anyway if working with multiple colors, so you can get an additional one and use the compressor. I don't know how big the figures are. With 0.3mm nozzle you can make 2mm dot. It's hard to make a smaller one.

Q: Can you manually control the airflow on this machine - In terms of how strong the air comes out?

Yes. There's an adjustment right next to the outlet. It controls the PSI by letting air out. Turned down really low, the compressor runs even when the airbrush isn't being used. BUT, this doesn't really have a lot of air pressure to begin with. For thinned acrylics, I had it all the way up. It's a pretty good starter/learner set, though, and the airbrush that comes with is actually pretty decent, with some fine tuning.
