I have followed Kumiko for a few years now. People who are new to her method sometimes feel overwhelmed on where to begin. This book is perfect starting point, while simultaneously being a great refresher for those already following her method and might have lost sight of some of the key foundational points. The lay out and progression of the book is intuitive and easy to follow. My Money My Way features case studies to help illustrate Kumiko's points to help deepen the reader's understanding. This book is relatable no matter where you are in your financial journal - whether you have debt or are focused on wealth building. Her passion, comparison, and skill at helping people meet their financial goals comes through in the writing and she holds true to everything you know, value, and love from the Budget Mom.

I have followed her on Instagram for about 6 months and have learned that money wasn’t necessarily my problem….it was my behaviour surrounding my money. I have tried budgeting in the past and this is the first time I have stuck with it. In just a few months of being very conscious about my spending, i have stuck to my budget and I have tucked away $2000, by just being ‘smarter’. She lights a fire under you and I love how relatable she is. She has been in the money trenches and has learned so much along the road to her success and wants to share with everyone that anyone can do this. You just have to start.

Reading this book is as if you're reparenting yourself and the idea of how you view money. Read a few books on money management and this is they only one that addresses the triggers, traumas and emotions that impact your money mgmt decisions and the choices you make. It gets to the why and how. While content may sound simple, it's not easy for everyone who needs more self awareness about this topic. So happy to have stumbled upon this book. Its exactly what I had been on an endless search for.

I have read a LOT of financial books over the years but the best thing that Kumiko's book has to offer is the "Make it Happen" section at the back of each chapter. It simplifies the steps one needs to make their goals happen. Miko's not only practices what she preaches she is proof her system works! If you stumble do not worry as every does.
