Yamaha ARIUS YDP-145 Digital Piano - Classic and Elegant Home Piano (Rosewood)
I was looking for a beginner level weighted keys digital piano in order to read music and play piano from scratch. Mine is the rosewood version and is superbly made as you would expect from Yamaha - I'm very pleased. Yes, it is comparably heavy at 6st (38kg) but in my opinion that shows how well made it is. It took two burly delivery guys to lift the box - make sure they lay the box on the floor for assembly rather than a high table as it makes it easier to lift the parts out of the box. It requires two people to assemble but is very easy process and took me and my wife 55 minutes including unpacking. A minor criticism is that the plug from the pedals is quite difficult to connect to the underside of the body so make sure you know which way the plug socket goes. Sound quality is excellent (to the untrained ear!) as it should be for a piece of kit worth over £700 but I'm very pleased! Now all I have to do is learn to play the piano and use its many features!

Amazing
If you’re comparing digital pianos and unsure of which is best, look no further. I spent days researching and comparing, and I finally decided to take the plunge and get this one. I’m so glad I did. It offers everything you need for a digital piano. The sound is incredible, the keys feel great and I’m hoping this lasts a lifetime. Volume goes very loud without distorting (thanks to the intelligent speakers). No need to play at full volume - halfway is more than loud enough. Looks sleek, sound is amazing and feels amazing. What more could you want? Plus with a trusted brand like Yamaha, you know you have a quality item. Very pleased. Glad I didn’t go for anything else! I managed to assemble by myself (and I suck at flat pack) really easy. Only part I needed help with was lifting the piano onto the stand. Took maybe 20 minutes? Would take even less for someone who’s actually good at building things.

Amazing digital piano
There's a reason it's a well known digital piano, it sounds great and looks modern and stylish. The keys feel great and I have no issues being immersed by the sound. I'd recommend having someone help with assembly, it can be done by one person but I'd recommend you make it easier for yourselves as I failed to do.

Good quality.
A product of high manufacturing and design standards, from the packaging to the product itself and the clear instructions—flawless.

a good sounding piano, but psu cable looks rather weak
The piano is good but the power unit a bit disappointing, the power cable looks very flimsy and could too easily be damaged. I expected something a lot more robust

Pure Luxury
Incredible in every way. Very little assembly required. Superb piano used with Smart Pianist opens a whole orchestra to accompany you. I just love it. Only desire would be for it to be gloss black.

most people won’t be able to hear the soft pedal
Good value for money, and overall excellent, but be aware that the soft pedal has so little impact that most people won’t be able to tell if it’s working or not. Since returning my piano to Amazon, I have been into a very helpful piano shop. After experimenting with all of the models on offer from different manufacturers, we ( the salesman who has much younger ears than me and was a very good pianist) , observed that the soft pedal impact is typically quite subtle on all models but on this Yamaha piano we found that the only way to detect a change is to repeatedly play note c2 quietly and listen hard when the pedal is pressed. I read this idea on a forum and it took a while before we started to believe there was any change at all. I wouldn’t say this is a game changer, but something to be aware of

Love it
We bought this one as a replacement and upgrade of our old (and starting to show symptoms of dying) Yamaha and we ate not disappointed. It’s very heavy ~40kg and the delivery guys couldn’t (or didn’t want) to bring them upstairs for us (as they said they weren’t insured if they damaged the house or something) so we have to dissemble the package to bring them upstairs. It took around 30min to put the piano up, instructions are clear so we had no issue with assembly. Sound quality is much better than the old one we had, of course no where near all the expensive or grand pianos we seen but for a beginners then this is more than our expectations. Definitely recommend.
