The only MODERN DAY GUNFIGHTER . Has anyone else been in multiple gunfights in last 60 years?
Officer Cirillo has been a participant in multiple gunfights and has survived without a scratch. He brings this expertise and experience to writing these books. Frank Hamer (Bonnie & Clyde) was involved in a number of shoot outs , many of them fatal to his opponents, but didn't write a book about techniques of training and equipment. Mr Hamer was nearly killed when he was ambushed on one occasion. Mr Cirrillo has been good enough to share his perspective.

Solid information on combat shooting
This video is short but contains some gold nuggets on combat shooting. Cirillo discusses some critical differences between target shooting and combat. He also provides some solid instruction and demonstration on shooting technique. Anyone who thought Cirillo was arrogant will learn otherwise when they hear the man in his own words. A solid investment for the student of pistolcraft. The methods Cirillo demonstrates are shockingly simple, and work quite well.

Jim Cirillo
This book is not only impressive, but a very informational source especially for those who are in the law enforcement field. Jim Cirillo is extremely blunt in this informative book.

Also published as a book
In this film, Jim Cirillo tells about his experiences in New York stakeout squad, and his experiments in the field of weapon customizing and bullet design. He also shares some advise on combat handgunning tactics and techniques. The majority of the film shows Cirillo speaking to the camera, and there are surprisingly few action sequences. The contents are not very visual, and therefore book format would be more suitable format. When making an instructional film, you should always be sure there is enough action to justify the use of film format, which is much more expensive than book format. The contents of the film are not arranged logically: All information about shooting techniques, for example is not found in the same place, rather you have to fast forward and rewind the tape, if you want to see just the techniques presented. And the same thing goes with just about everything in the film, the only exception being the information about hybrid guns, and special bullets Cirillo has designed. On the other hand, it may be good thing that the stories Cirillo tells are dispersed this way, but otherwise it is annoying. Some of the techniques and tactics presented are not very good, in my opinion. For example, Cirillo teaches a certain way to shoot around a barricade while supporting your gun to the obstacle. This is not very good practise, as the recoil bounces the gun much harder that way compared to regular shooting stance. There is also some good advise, though. You just have to find the good stuff and dispense the bad.The main problem with the tape is that most of the contents have been published in book format (Guns, Bullets, And Gunfights: Lessons And Tales From A Modern-Day Gunfighter). When buying the book, you get virtually the same information (and in many cases much more), and pay only a fraction of the price of the film.Run time: 1:31
