Installation is very simply and intuitive - place screw in bottom sleeve, place over license plate, secure assembly onto car. The security cap is an internal tight fit, so you will NOT be able to get it out without tools and time. I tapped the caps in using my screwdriver. Full install for front and rear plates took 5 minutes (most of that time turning the screw driver). I'm bewildered why some reviewers are shocked to have a security cap be secure. There are ways to bypass them, but it will require some planning and determination from a thief. Do not be surprised if you have a plate cover which you remove annually and have a difficult time removing this cap - this is what you paid for. They do protrude from the plate like a weird button (pictured below), but why is that a concern? Many options for you if you want everything, but you'll have to pay up for it (bumper removal). These look perfectly fine and I see no need for other options.

These are of fair quality and all and the price is decent, you get two sets for about 6 bucks. BUT, whenever you need to remove them you have use a drill and destroy them before you can remove them. So, that being said, you need to replace them every time you have to place your DMV stickers on. At least my plate is underneath the frame I use and probably just about everyone else's I imagine. Waste of money. You can see how difficult it is if you go to youtube and see the professional video of the owner of the business attempting to remove the caps. He used a drill and it was still super difficult to remove. There has to be a better way? Right? I gave it two stars since they were made of quality materials and the owner seemed very nice in the youtube video. Just remember, you will be replacing these every year, keep that in mind.

I would not recommend these license plate fasteners. They are well made and relatively easy to install.Problem is they are very difficult to remove. They are " VERY, VERY ANTI-THEFT "So much so, that the only way to remove them is to destroy them, by using vise grips or drilling them out.If you don't mind that aspect about them, then they are fine.
