Mythomorphia: An Extreme Coloring and Search Challenge

I will also post a few photos of designs in the book.I own both of Kerby Rosanes earlier books (“Animorphia” and “Imagimorphia”) and really like both books. I thought it might be difficult for the artist to reach the same level with his new book. I was wrong. This is absolutely my favorite Rosanes coloring book yet. The designs are beautiful and odd at the same time – just what I want from this artist. The subject matter is cohesive and presents a great story of mythological creatures and stories.What was different and made the book more unique, is that there is less of the doodle creatures in the designs. While I love the doodle style, it made for a wonderful change of pace to have less in this book. It really provided a fantastic view of the artist's wide range of skill. I hope to see more coloring books in both styles in the future.As soon as I held and saw the physical book in my hands, I immediately ordered a second copy. I want to be able to use whatever coloring medium I wish on these fantastic designs. I'll probably pick up the UK version (in several months when it comes out) for pencil coloring as my experience is that the UK paper is best for that medium.This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing my various coloring medium on the paper.53 Designs based on Mythological creatures and stories as interpreted in a refined form of Kerby Rosanes doodle style artwork.Designs are printed on both sides of heavyweight soft white slightly smooth non-perforated paperMany designs spread across two pagesTwo page designs have a white strip running down both sides of the page at the bindingHybrid Glued and Sewn Binding (lots of little stitches rather than the few in a sewn binding.) I don't suggest cutting pages out as you will lose important parts of designs.Had difficulty getting the book to open flat for coloringAlcohol-based markers bleed throughMost water-based markers bleed through spotty (my only exception was the brush end of my Tombows which did not bleed through)India ink pens left shadows on the back of the pageGel pens did not leak through the paperColoring pencils did well with this paper. While it is slightly smooth, it still has enough tooth to grip pigment fairly well. I tested both oil and wax based pencils with similar results. I was able to layer the same color, multiple colors and also to blend fairly easily with a blending stick.

This is a very good all around color book I would absolutely recommend it.!!!!! It’s absolutely worth it!

Love the artwork in this book. Each page has super detailed drawings. I use colored pencils and have a lot of fun blending them on these pages

I love designs in this book.The paper is soft and rich.So fun to color.

Got the yellow Mythomorphia, solid back instead of spiral (tbh can't remember if this was offered, I looked at several coloring books before ordering)... It ripped, and the pictures are front and back... Gotta be careful not to bleed and can't tear them out to frame them unfortunately, and the book itself seems to be made cheaply due to it already falling apart after less than a week of getting it.The product itself though is great, really intriguing pictures that catch the eye, but I can't say I'd recommend due to the front & back aspect.

The price is amazing. Searching for the hidden objects is also fun.

The media could not be loaded.  This coloring book was so fantastic I got one for myself and one for my manager who absolutely loved it. If you plan to use alcohol markers you’re going to either want to carefully choose which image you want to paint more on which side of the paper because they are double-sided images and alcohol markers do bleed through water-based markers would be totally fine the paper is nice and thick and alcohol markers don’t feather but they do bleed to the other side so you won’t be able to do both images without affecting what you’ve already done if you know what I mean anyway for the price you might as well just go ahead and purchase yourself two copies so that you will be able to go ahead and do every other image in each book and effectively color every image throughout the entire book using two booksTo do so, if you followed that props to you!Basically just buy it is so amazing and beautifully designed for coloring. I might copy onto marker paper so I can colormover and over each image as well that’s a great idea too.

I love this artist's work, and this book doesn't have as many of the little doodle-dudes, which is cool with me. The image quality and paper quality are both good, and while very wet watercolor or ink will warp the pages out of shape, it isn't beyond doable, and dry mediums like colored pencils work well.Alcohol markers work well too, but they DO bleed through to the design on the other side.That's really the only thing that I DIDN'T like about this coloring book: I HATE that the designs are on both sides of the page, as it forces me to have to either A. buy a second copy of the book, or B. choose between great designs, as one side of the page will be ruined if I use my preferred medium, alcohol markers.I would love to buy a "special" or "artist's" edition with one sided pages!!!All in all, despite that flaw, great designs, great paper, great book!

Ein wunderschönes Malbuch mit ausgesprochen kreativen und herausfordernden Motiven. Ich besitze es selbst und habe es nochmal für eine Freundin bestellt, die ihre helle Freude daran hat.Die Papierqualität ist ausgezeichnet für Buntstifte und auch verblenden funktioniert tadellos!

Es un libro de gran calidad, se siente desde la cubierta y las hojas. Las ilustraciones son muy buenas.

Una pasada de libro!. Buena calidad y las ilustraciones...a cual más bonita. Muy buena compra. Estoy deseando empezar a pintarlo. El pedido llegó un poco tarde debido a la situación que estamos viviendo, pero el libró finalmente llegó en perfectas condiciones. Además el vendedor se puso inmediatamente en contacto conmigo para explicar la situación. Así que si tarda un poco más en llegar el pedido, tened un poco de paciencia, que llegar...llega.

In love with this book. Paper quality is amazing I did not expect it to be this good. Kerby Rossanes at his best.
