I bought a bunch of these after I tried them because I always want a stash. They are great for ponytails that don't hurt, don't damage your hair, and don't slide out, no matter the thickness of your hair. They also look better and more polished than the regular elasticized hair ties that are so common. I have been using these for years and have had good luck with sturdiness as well. Only one has broken on me and it was my fault as I pushed the mechanism too hard.

They are NOT black clips as shown and there is nothing in the description that would tell me they will be different colors. I received an ugly green and hideous orange barrette instead of the classic blacks I was expecting.

I started out liking the barrette well enough but plastic fatigue set in quickly and it couldn't grasp my thick hair anymore. It would just pop off. Took about 2 or 3 weeks to give up. Before it gave up I was able to adjust it to hold in the clasp but one too many adjustments...

I'm glad to have found these, as I didn't know they exist. The metal version has long been my favorite barette (I have fine hair and most types of barrettes tend to just slide off; this Autoclasp style holds well), but the metal can sometimes cut my hair a little. These plastic ones hold well without that issue, and they appear well-made & durable.

One of the barrettes has a bent part of the clasp so I cant use it. In all fairness i didnt notice this until told late to request a replacement, its not worth my hassle.Size is large enough but for my baby fine, straight, relatively thin diameter pony tail it doesn't ho.d as well as other products I've had. It just isnt right for me. Hinge piece is silicone or material similar.

This barrette IS ouchless because it's all plastic. I wear my fine long hair up in a messy twist using one clip. This did the job and I could also sleep with it in. After about a month of on/off use, one of the clips snapped off. It's definitely not for holding up a lot of hair, IMO.

Easy to use. Hold securely. As described. A useful product and as described.
