Yes, this will work for soldering, although you could go with a smaller size (8"). We use the 10" unit for welding and confined space ventilation, they move a lot of air.

5 meters = 16 feet. not 25 feet.

Would it be possible to attach a filter to the intake side to catch overspray while venting a room? Don't want to blow overspray dust everywhere...

It’s possible but I think you’ll be disappointed at the reduction in air movement. If you’re going to try I would suggest a filter designed for a spray booth. Also make sure the inlet and exit are sealed. Any gap could cause exhaust to return to the inlet.

Can i use this to remove laquer fumes/over spray while spraying kitchem cabinets?

Hello there, It will definitely help move the fumes, but remember that it still have a little bit of the odor due to the drying process of the lacquer. I recommend running the blower for the entire drying time. I'm very impressed with the product.
