Beautifully thought-provoking
Came here having listened to some of Tempest's music and read The Bricks That Built The Houses. Found a similar integrity and honesty here, but in a more directly personal way. Having spent a lot of time reading 'management' books, this brought me down to earth and got me thinking about how I interact with the world and the people around me. Powerful.

Thought Provoking - A must read
I loved this book. Whilst short in length I took my time and read this is small spurts. This proved the perfect approach for me, allowing me to digest and reflect. I was delighted that Kae referenced Carl Jung - I’m also reading Labyrinths. The connection between the two struck a chord. I questioned my own integrity after a passage in this book. Realised the high rating I’d given my integrity needed assessment, further consideration and action to achieve - Definitely my key take away from this read. I love to pay a book forward but I can’t part with this copy. Instead I’ll pay it forward with new copies to those friends and loved ones I know will connect with it. Worth the small spend for sure. Kae, you’re words, lyrics and delivery hit like no other. Thank you.

An important mediation what connects us / sets us apart
Kae Tempest is one of my favourite writers (formerly known as Kate Tempest they changed their name and pronouns after recently deciding to identify as nonbinary). I’ve read and loved everything they have written. I’ve listened to their albums Everybody Down and Let Them Eat Chaos a ridiculous amount of times. I couldn’t wait to read this. On Connection is a series of mini-essays about how we connect as human beings through creative mediums especially poetry and performing life. Kae uses some examples from their own life to illustrate their points. I really enjoyed On Connections. A lot of Kae’s examples and points are spot on, especially given this year’s pandemic where connections and communication has become even more important.

Comfortably numb
In the middle of a pandemic we rely on our computers for connection like In a song by Kate Bush. So I came to a book "On Connection" looking to feel connected to a Poet I admire. Although Kae Tempest does not reference Pink Floyd, her book, for me, echoes "Comfortably Numb." Yes, I felt connected, that this was my voice too. Not quite as powerful as Patti Smith but captivating nonetheless.

I feel impacted and changed. So many good reflections on what it means to be alive. This books doesn’t answer many questions but helps you provoke the right set of thoughts. I feel connected, conscious and alive
