Updated review: very pleased with the knife, nicest EDC I own.
The media could not be loaded. Very nice knife, and appears to be well worth the $. The Nitro-V blade material caught my eye, and the other higher end features certainly added to the appeal. I am looking forward to putting it to good use as my new primary EDC and would recommend to others.Knife construction: this is solid, the blade substantial without being too large, and sits centered with super smooth operation, no play or slop in the pivot.** Note: a previous knife was returned due to an anomaly with a jammed button lock, which appeared to be due a misaligned lock mechanism or excessive material in and around the recess that the lock moves in/out of. Again, I believe that to have been an anomaly given the new blades functioning very well.

Happy with the purchase!
Got this for my boyfriend who collects knives and he loves it! Affordable, good quality steel and handle, sharp, easy to sharpen, and good grip/ easy to use for bigger hands.

My new EDC!
I took a chance on this after my Gerber folding tanto decided to finally give up on life. I have been very surprised at how well this folders edge has held up over time. The Damascus pattern is very nice and the flip-action to open the knife works really well...just be careful if you try to close it fast...it's very sharp and will bite :)I'm going to check out the rest of the CIVIVI lineup and pick a few more, I'll do reviews on those as well. Buy with confidence !

Almost perfect
The media could not be loaded. I bought this for a nice easy to carry hiking fishing pocket knife. I wanted something durable and colorful I won’t lose easy, that can handle corrosion better than D2. Also I’m left-handed and I wanted something I can easily open and close with one hand while holding a fishing pole with a reversible pocket clip. Stainless steel nitro V, ultum, super easy button lock, a solid flipper and it’s a Civivi checked all the boxes for me.This knife has a pretty smooth action as you can see in the video, and a solid lock up with zero blade play at all. It got a little smoother after playing with it for a few minutes. Button lock works pretty good out of the box. I also ordered an elementum 2 to compare which one I liked better and the elementum has a very stiff action and sticky button. The nitro V arrived razor shaving sharp. Has a great weight and great feel to it. Retention on the pocket clip is perfect. All the machining looks perfect. The negative is the ultum texturing. It’s slick. Not nearly as grippy as G10. With wet or sweaty hands the knife was too slick to be opened easily. Might have to return it for the micarta version.

Feels good in the hand!
In my search for the perfect EDC knife I ran into this one, the CIVIVI Conspirator - a button lock knife. I had never even heard of a button lock before so I got it just to see if it really is as good as as everyone seems to think.I got the black micarta version.I knew it was a bit too big to be my regular EDC, but once I got it in my hand I just couldn't put it down! The micarta is so nicely smoothed everywhere it feels better in my hand than most knives I have held before! I like it so well,I decided to carry it as a backup in case I damage or loose my regular edc knife. Opening and closing it is just plain fun to me using the back flipper tab and button. The Nitro-V blade steel seems to be a relatively new one that promises to have better than average toughness and corrosion resistance, but tends to sacrifice edge retention to get those other qualities, but supposed to be easy to sharpen. This knife has a slightly larger blade, and body when compared to the CIVIVI Cogent. Also the blade geometry of this knife gives a more robust point to the blade than on the Cogent; Good news for you ice chippers. The smooth lines and weight distribution make it easier to carry than I expected and I forget its even there most of the time.Performance wise it has no problem with cardboard boxes, and makes that job a lot more fun than with smaller knives. It is also pretty light for it's size @ 3.8oz.I wouldn't rate it a real survival knife, but maybe urban survival.

Well made, full sized, smooth action
The conspirator has a tall but thin blade that slices easily and feels reassuring. You can get a good full grip on this. The knife opens very crisply with a middle finger (reverse) flick using the fuller or the blade. The blade can also be swung freely with the button pressed making for great fidgeting. The flipper works fine as well but the detent is a just a little light and I flopped an occasional flip. The other opening methods are just very satisfying. No complaints about the build quality and materials for the price. I only wish Civivi would make more knives with subtle branding like this. The blacked out pivot on this one is just fantastic.Eventually I went to upgrade with the titanium clip that Civivi sells on Amazon but I prefer the more discrete deep carry style that comes stock with the knife. A titanium deep carry clip would be perfect.Overall I highly rate the design and I’ve given several as gifts to the gents in my life.

Best budget folder
This knife is the best folder under $100 I've ever used. I liked the first one so much I bought another. The Nitro-V steel is great, it's a flipper, running on bearings, and a button lock. Blade will drop shut and is super fidgety. The button is super stiff for about a week and then it will wear in. The micarta scales feel good. It's extremely ergonomic, it slices well, holds an edge, has a good action, and both of mine had no imperfections and came perfectly centered. Can't ask for much more.

Beautiful knife
This is a fairly large knife, but it fits well for me personally. Its very lightweight, but not in a "cheaply made" kind of way. It is easy to use and is super fun to just sit there flipping it out. Very comfortable to hold. The damascus pattern is beautiful, the micarta feels great. Its very sharp out of the box, but I personally always sharpen my knives on a stone after a few days of use. Very easy to clean as well. Great value for this knife
