Insanely good!!
This is the real deal! I just got this today in preparation for our Canadian Rockies trip next week and it needed no “breaking in”. Easy peasy. Of course I also read the itsy bitsy manual first to ensure I do it right. Don’t believe the nay sayers on how this doesn’t work. It does! Don’t blame the product for human error, guys! Ok so here’s the lowdown. Great picture quality for such great distance! Of course you can’t expect super crisp photos when you’re “zoomed” from that far. Let’s be realistic and remember this is not even $80! Very easy to install/use - like I said - easy peasy. I have the iPhone X. Make sure you line it up with the top camera as the iPhone X has two cameras. Has some weight to it but not bad. Tip: Once you’ve focused the lens, hold the monocular from under with your left hand (if you’re a rightie) and the phone with your right hand, clip your arms to your sides (never stretch out your arms or take a photo with your arms away from your body), hold as still as you can, and snap gently. Good quality - I really think this will last a good while. And lastly, I find that I am still able to text even with the attachment on (without the monocular of course coz that will be heavy but I suppose I still can). This way I am able to more quickly set it up if I need to capture something in a rush. Just attach the attachment just right under the volume buttons on the left. Don’t go any higher than that as it will squeeze the buttons and you end up with a silent phone. Past it and you might also end up like me - accidentally sending out an SOS to the police! (When you hold the power button down for 5 seconds it makes an emergency call for help! - I hope the police don’t show up now! Oops! Haha) See my two photos and see for yourself just how much closer it will bring your subjects for a photo! It’s insane!

Fun to use
Great for whale and bird watching! Star gazing is not too bad but wish it had a better magnification. The moon looks great you get decent visibility but harder to anything much further. Great quality, compact and convenient to pack. Quality lenses and fun to carry around on a hike.

From a connoisseur of monoculars
2023 update: this scope has held up to a couple years worth of use and abuse. I've dropped it a couple times and it is holding up well. Still works the same as the day i bought it. Highly recommend this product. I am a "fine" connoisseur of Chinese made monoculars. For a variety of reasons, this the 5th one I've owned. The box is sturdy and doesn't have that cheap "Chinese knock off vibe". I was impressed. This scope does come with a lifetime warranty. LOL. I won't hold my breath on that one, but at least it's there. The case is sturdy canvas with belt loop. Surprisingly, it's lined with a microfiber of some sort. Bonus. The scope is a little heavier and larger girth than what I would call "ideal" for carrying it around in my pocket like i want, but it does fit. This might be too big around for folks with smaller hands unless you use it two-handed. I have to slide my hand back towards the smaller taper in order to adjust focus and hold with one hand. I also had to remove the lanyard screw to facilitate this. I don't want the lanyard attached so no biggy to me. The focus knob is perfect tightness. Easy enough to turn one fingered but not loose enough to turn when pulling in and out of my pocket. The camera mount is sturdier and holds more secure than other one's I've tried. Once adjusted and fitted, my phone held perfectly fine in position and i was able to take perfect clarity photos. The scope feels very well built and I have high hopes for this one. I will try and update after a year's worth of heavy use and see if it still holds up.

Pictures suck - Device Great
The monocular is pretty nice. The eye cup is Innovative and the visual quality is pretty good, but if you look closely the focus is off around the edges which shows on photos as a distortion. Using just as a monocular focusing on the main subject your brain interprets it and it looks great overall. As a phone photography system which is what it’s being billed as a product - it is completely misrepresented by showing photographs zoomed in birds full screen. So the images provided by the manufacturer are quite misleading. I looked through the category at other competitive products and they all show a bird of some sort in a full screen picture on their phone. And in all cases they actually show a circle around the outside as if you’re looking through a telescope. This effect is caused by the distance between the glass lens in the Monocular and the lens on the camera. The creative mounting system but they’ve come up with to replace the old one (that wasn’t very good) causes an increased air gap between the lenses further exacerbating the low picture quality Incidentally there seems to be no way humanly possible to take a photo as shown in the advertising pictures. You shoot a picture with an image with black edges around it and you crop it into another picture lowering the resolution further. That’s how they’re showing the photo of a bird it’s actually not an actual photograph it’s a cropped photo and “simulated” on the phone. And with that being said they have to crop it really tight to get whatever was in the very center otherwise you will see all the distortion around the outside. Take a look at the picture uploaded as I think it clearly shows distortion in multiple locations everywhere other than the very center. So for this reason I give this a three and am returning the product. If you want the gosky monocular by itself there’s another listing here. And I think it’s totally worth the money. But the phone accessory is a bust. Don’t believe the manufacturer images.

Awesome product.
Very cool item. Clarity is amazing. Very strong, well balanced and comfortable to hold. I love that the eye peace can be adjusted if you wear glasses so you can leave them on. Very powerful scope and with your phone camera attached you can zoom in even more. The clarity is amazing. No fogging. I've used it in the rain and all types of weather. No issues at all. I've had many scopes in the past, this one by far is the best I've ever had. I researched many monocular before I purchased this one. I definitely made the right choice. I have been using this all summer. Love it, lots of fun. I had a small imperfection on the larger lens. I contacted the seller less than 2 days later I was sent a replacement. No questions asked They told to keep the original 0ne, no need to send back. Amazing seller. When I first contacted the seller I had a response in a very short time. I have had several conversations via email. Alan, from the service team, great guy by the way, was incredibly helpful. Look no further. This is the monocular you want. Again unbeatable, amazing customer service (literally the best I have ever dealt with) and of course the monocular is amazing.

The photo of the happier user is highly misleading
First, the review headline. That photo of the bird implies a) that the lens forms a full-sensor image, second that you can hand-hold it, and third that the contrast and clarity are spectacular. None of these “facts” are true. I hoped this would be good for my wife to take pictures of birds and other wildlife on our feeders, but there are several problems: first, the image on the phone camera is small—a circle around 1/3 the screen width. Second, it is almost impossible to focus accurately. Third, the adapter doesn’t work at all with an iPhone 6S+ unless you take it out of the case. Finally, the monocular is huge—not even good as a pocketable monocular. I wasn’t surprised that the clarity and contrast were not so good—it’s an $80 piece of gear. Also, it is not possible to handhold, which a few reviews mentioned. I really expected in full sunlight the phone camera would be fast enough that every third image would be crisp, but you clearly need a tripod. Given all this, it is cheaper and easier to leave a small camera in the living room ... especially since we already have one.
