Organic Veggie Roll Mediterranean

we bought this for our kids- it tastes horrible plain. We did not cook with it, might be better that way.

I cut them into cubes and use them in recipes in place of meat. The flavor may take getting use to in the beginning and they taste better when you lightly fry them in a pan first. Try it on Fried Rice, Pasta dishes, Pizza topping, Taco Filling, etc.. I like several flavors, but Fine Herbs is my favorite. Organic, imported from Italy. The shelf life is pretty long, so I buy several logs at a time to save on shipping.

Holas. I am a big eater though I don't look like it. I am a healthy Latin cooking chef and I do look like it.I recently have delved heavier into vegan, vegetarian cuisine and products. This brand came up as a very great tasting "sausage" alternative.I decided to try it.Shipping took very long. The product did not require refrigeration. I tasted product at room temperature and was not impressed. I decided to brown a bit in a non stick skillet. Taste was not good at all and very soft. So not recommended to heat.Stuck it in the fridge as the product requires refrigeration after opening.Next day, after chilling for a day, I tried it again. Very much like liverwurst or a liver pate in my opinion.Sliced some up and placed on G&G Bran Crispbreads with soy cheese and mustard.Wow!The mustard really brought out the flavor.Very similar chilled to liverwurst.Expensive, more than 10 bucks a roll with shipping. A very nice addition and alternative to"cold cuts."I was not looking for a liverwurst substitute, however nice to add to my vegan/vegetarian arsenal.If you like to try new foods and like the taste and texture of liverwurst, it is worth the try.Again, do not cook!

Its not bad but not what I was hoping for. I thought it would be more like a salami and it's nothing like that. It does taste okay on some crackers.

I DID NOT LIKE THE FLAVOR

I love this product and I'm not usually a fan of mock-meats. I first had it years ago in Europe. It has a soft texture (which I think freaks some out) and an amazing flavor (mild, herb-y, savory...). Super yummy on dark German bread!!! Delicious!!!! My second order showed up as an empty envelope--clearly the seam broke and someone is enjoying my delicious veggie roll!! I emailed the seller and they promptly shipped me a new one! Great service!!!

Pretty much for veggies/vegans. Carnivores will probably just get confused. Think "peanut-wurst." Peanut under, mid, and overtones, with a wurst like use and texture. Initially weirded and almost ready to give up on it, but found that a strong mustard really helped. Aha! So think horseradish, mustard, raw onions ... anything to blast the peanut-ness into submission. Put it on crackers with some mixture of the above. Maybe pepperoncini, or hot giardiniera pickles, sliced radishes, cherry peppers, etc. Any and/or all. Then it *does* satisfy the late-night stare into the fridge, wishing summer sausage wasn't so bad for you, the animals, or the planet.Does a snack such as the above sound like it'd be good with an IPA or pilsner? Well yes, it very much is. And you didn't need the cheese or other cholesterol-filled crud to go with it. Good on you.
