When the World Was Waiting for You

This children's book is just delightful. I recently became a first time grandmother. As a mother I read to my children every night and found it so gratifying to share the gift of books to each of my 3 boys. As an early childhood, special education teacher I was able to witness time after time how valuable books were to the development of imagination, language acquisition and a cognitive skills.Highly recommend this book.This book is most suited for 2 to 3 year old.

Cute story although baby doesn't understand it yet. Probably is more for parents. I would stick with know books but this one would be a perfect addition too.

This is such a cute and sweet book. The illustrations are lovely, the story is meaningful, and the it's just so cute. Perfect for a baby shower gift!

This book is best for a new baby with older siblings, but that's exactly what I needed.The illustrations are beautiful, kind of summer-cottage-in-Cornwall, with thatched roofs and tall wildflowers; they cover the entire page. The text is simple and sweet, written in rhyme. The book itself appears to be well-made (time will tell, I guess): it's a sturdy hardback with a dust cover.The only reaso I didn't give this 5 stars was because the vocabulary is really far too advanced for the "baby" to appreciate. It's really more for the parents or older siblings.But, definitely a good purchase!

Sweet story, pretty illustrations

Pretty cute little book!

I bought this book after reading a very positive review in The Green Parent magazine this year. I was not disappointed. My two year old loves it, and it gave us an opportunity to discuss the similarities between the characters eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby sibling and our family, who is awaiting a baby in September.I found plenty of things to talk about with my son, outside of the storyline, from the colour of the flowers in the bautifully sweet images, to the clothes the characters were wearing, counting the toys in the bedroom or the visitors who arrive to see the newborn. I think with any book, you get out what you put in, and there is certainly enough here to warrant my toddler asking for "When the World Was Waiting for You" again and again.

So pleased I bought this book, it is the most delightful story and my 1 year old nieces enjoys kissing all the bunnies as she reads it before bed.

A lovely story to share with a little one to show them how longed for and anticipated their arrival was.

Bought as a gift for someone after I bought this for my little girl. Such a touching lovely story.
