SIX follows members of Navy SEAL Team Six, modern American warriors whose mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists. Inspired by real missions, the series authentically captures the inside world of America's elite special operations unit, what these SEALs do, their personal lives, combat, and the life-and-death decisions they make.

Uneven Series about Navy Seals, with a fantastic finish
This latest attempt to make a TV series about special forces soldiers is somewhat "uneven" compared to say The Unit, but maybe it will get better. The fantastic Walton Goggins is the leader of Seal Team Six who are the focus of this show. He leaves the Team and becomes a private contractor in Africa while the Team goes on without him. Goggins becomes a hostage of terrorists and his old Team spends the 8 episodes trying to rescue him. The pluses of the series are the gun battles, tech toys the soldiers use and their incredible bravery. Of course as amazingly skilled as the soldiers are in combat, they are total idiot/frat boys alla "Animal House" in their private lives. And that frat boy behavior is tough to watch as they are so selfish, reckless, alcoholic, and irresponsible when not on a mission which is 50% of the time. I was ready to write the show off as not worth watching based on all the infantile behavior by these men until...the ending of Season 1. The last episode, which I'll just say involves, Goggins, is shocking, fantastic, I didn't see it coming, and it left me breathless and wanting MORE. For that reason, I will buy a second season when it comes out and to see what happens to the Team.

Superb Production, Thoughtfully Written
This is without a doubt one of the most outstanding shows ever done involving Navy SEAL's. Not only is it very well scripted to reflect realistic scenarios both at home as well as abroad, but the treatment it gives to their personal lives has a genuine honesty about it--not over-the-top hysterics but neither is it sugar coated. I know what I'm talking about when I say that our society expects these guys to be top notch warriors/take no prisoners/kick ass and take names but "don't hurt anybody!". Then when they do come home they're raked over the coals, second guessed, and God forbid if a civilian was accidentally wounded or killed during a gun battle. So it is appropriate and thank worthy to see both the personal as well as professional aspects of their lives. Too often these guys are emotionally wrecked. Tough exteriors, able to withstand physical pain and deprivation but on the inside, just wrecked. Most of us have no idea what it's like to live with the kind of stress and torment they do. Only their brothers in arms get it.Walton Goggins from "Justified" does an excellent job as "Rip", the team leader who is taken hostage. They all do. My thanks to the History Channel for carrying this mini series. And God bless all our warriors, both living and dead, for what they've done for this country.

Can't wait for season 2.
I was surprised how good this show was. I wasn't expecting much from a History channel drama. It was pretty dang good. Walton Goggins was great as usual and so was the other cast members. What really drew me in was the honesty. The show alluded to the real life atrocities SEALs are accused of doing during this 16 year quagmire we have been involved in. It also showed the high operational tempo and the toll it takes on the military members physically and mentally. It doesn't excuse the actions but fairly shows both sides. You don't see intellectual honestly like that these days. I appreciated it and the entertainment.

A definite MUST watch series
This was my first video from the History channel. I had no idea they provided videos. I loved this series and looking forward to season 2. I thought the cast was a great ensemble and the different personalities worked well together. Walter Goggins is amazing. If you haven't already, definitely check out Justified. He carries the show with his unique acting skills.

Fast-paced story
Enjoyed it; it was fast-paced story-telling that was fantastic. Second season was fabulous as well. Who is going to pick this series back up? Love the 'History Channel' for bringing new ideas to entertainment but what I don't love is that 'History' has a limited following (as people have to pay for more expensive cable packages to sometimes obtain access) - and this limiting factor seems to quash well-developed stories/characters.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED this series
ABSOLUTELY LOVED this series, sure do hope it is continued! Held my interest from the moment it came on and the acting is superb! That this series is from real life of our soldiers, endeared to my heart every single one who is still currently battling and suffering for our everyday freedoms we enjoy and take for granted. This totally helped me see things from our soldiers perspective and for the lives of ones they were trying to save, that we don't hear about in the news. GREAT job, PLEASE bring back more seasons!

Import dvd, but no UK option available.
The UK is the poor man of europe we get very few of the less watched; although still very good series. This is one of those, this is an import from Germany. It plays in english via the menu, and was very enjoyable. Would have preferred if it was a UK release.

Fictionalised account of SEAL DevGru
Excellent fictionalised story of Seal Team 6 missions, and the strain they produce on home life. Very well researched, acted and scripted with a good level of tension during their various deployments. Roll on Season 2!
