A great read!
I loved this book. If you are always the one to hope for the best, this book is for you. It will definitely take you on emotional roller coaster and have you feeling everything that the characters are.

Sad but true
I know that racism is a very real thing, but it makes me sad. I just don't understand why color should matter. Other than the love at first site thing, the issues faced in this series have been extremely reality based. The character are damaged or repentive. I've enjoyed this sort from book 1 and have the next one preordered. These can be read as stand alones.

Couldn't put this book down until I finished it!
Ryker, the football hunk that was always selfish and only thought of himself and his star status on the football team meets and falls in love with Aurora a deaf beauty that comes to his high school in his senior year. This love story made me smile, feel anger and to fall in love with these two. The problem that the two face is racism by Aurora's dad because Ryker is black and Aurora is white I love the realism of the story it doesn't shy away from the fact that especially in the South that racism is alive and well. Loved the story, loved the book!!

Wow
Wow, if I could give this book a 10 I would. Aurora and Riker story was absolutely amazing. The fact that it was able to show how bigoted and cruel people can be says it all. The way it showed how two people can click in a heartbeat was also so touching. I wanted to shake Hunter and say wake up you jerk. Can’t wait for more in this series. Please Abbi don’t make us wait so long for the next one. Each book gets better and better, this is an absolute must read!

Love this series.
I love August because a new book in this series is released. I read it in one day because I can’t put it down. I really liked this story line. It takes issues that are still relevant in today’s culture. She stays true to the characters and whats not to love when kids from other books are in there as well. Friday night is football in many places and this connects with readers in many ways. You can’t go wrong reading this book or any other one the series.

Awesome book to read!!!!!!!!!
I have read all of this series and I love them but this one is really good. It had me from page one until I finished it just now. This series is awesome. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone but I would recommend this book. I'm hoping there will be more or something like it. Abbi Glines is an excellent writer. I give it 5 stars but if there was more stars to give I would give this book all the stars in the world.

Very disappointing
I’ve never written a review on any of Abbi’s books before, but I really should, as 95% of them are very well written. However, her last few books, specifically this latest YA series are dull, dull, dull! In this book, the characters of Ryker and Aurora are so one dimensional, I can’t believe I just wasted 3 hours of my life on their story, which could have been condensed into a short story or even a backstory to some other character, so little actually happened. So Ryker is black... Aurora is deaf with a racist father, a great premise for lots of angst you may think. Except it isn’t. Aside from Auroras father making her go to her grandmothers for a couple of weeks where by the way she decides to get the cochlear implants her father wanted for her and she was absolutely adamant she would never get, she goes back to school and Ryker to live happily ever after. The other big issue is the ‘insta’ love. Now I’m really familiar with this concept, and does happen in Abbi’s other books, but doesn’t seem so blatantly obvious as it is here. The fact that they cannot live without each other after knowing each other for a week, does not ring true. They also seem to completely change their personalities during this short time. Ryker going from a playboy who only cares about football, getting laid and parties. To a guy that dedicates himself to learning sign language and being a gentleman. Aurora, also relents on getting major surgery to install the cochlear implants as Ryker has completely changed her world! I mean if it was as easy as that to gain her hearing, why did her parents get her to do it when she was much younger?!The final issue...(there are more), are the perphiral characters. Aurora’s step mum didn’t add as much drama as she could have if the story had been fleshed out properly. Her downfall was she likes to offer ‘healthy’ food at dinner times. Talluhah has already been introduced in the prior book, but she’s so saccharine I found it really hard to believe she was a real person. Not only had she lost a ton of weight, been revealed as a super model, snagged the former captain of the football team. But she also taught herself sign language and volunteers at the local deaf school! In short, considering Abbi has 3 teenagers, I’m not sure she can write for them, and would be better sticking to the adult genre. I absolutely loved the sea breeze and rosemary beach series and read them all a few times. But this series as well as the exsistence series will languish in the charity shop for me.

Another fab book from Abbi
Love this series of Abbi's, Making a Play was particularly good, with Ryker and Aurora having multiple hurdles to over come. Seeing that sweet side of Ryker develop and Aurora push through barriers she never thought she would. I love how Abbi includes characters from the previous books tying them all in together. I'm excited to see where the next story takes us.
