Helped come up with new dishes. I do recommend!
For those with food allergies it’s a wonderful book. However, we forgot the corn allergy so be careful if you buy it. However, I do like the simplicity of those dishes without the corn.

Comprehensive Resource for Cooking with Allergies
I've been a big fan of Amanda's account, @everydayallergenfree, since I started my own blog dedicated to top-8-free cooking, Octofree. Her food photography and recipes (I tried out the top-8-free gingerbread men this past holiday) are mouthwateringly good, so I was thrilled to learn that she was publishing a cookbook with 85 recipes for meals free of the top 8: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat. The cookbook starts out with handy resources such as items to include in your allergen-free pantry, ways to save time, how to shop for groceries when you or someone in your household has food allergies, and especially helpful for people brand-new to this lifestyle, a list of foods that are OK to enjoy and those to avoid or look out for.I appreciated that Amanda included recipes for every meal of the day, plus snacks, sides and desserts. I'm always on the lookout for egg-free breakfast ideas, so I was inspired to see her creative recipes for breakfast corn muffins, carrot pancakes and chocolate fudge chia pudding. I'll be trying the garlicky white bean dip and crispy shaved Brussels sprouts for my next get-together, and the creamy Tuscan sun-dried tomato chicken and pork chops in cherry white wine sauce are on my "to be made" list. The salty chocolate chip cookies and strawberry custard - both usually filed under items that people with food allergies cannot have - sound delicious. A bonus section at the end includes recipes for flavor-boosters such as sauces, dressings and more (the avocado ranch dressing is a stand-out).Overall, a fantastic and comprehensive resource for people with food allergies, intolerances or dietary restrictions looking for unfussy but flavorful recipes. Bravo Amanda, can't wait to see what's next!Note: I was provided with an advance copy of the cookbook. Thank you Amanda!

Light Print Can Be Difficult to Read
I was so excited about this book but when opening it, all of the recipe instructions are printed in a light and fragile print. It just makes it so difficult to read. I am disappointed I will probably not choose it as much as could otherwise. 😕

Colorful, fresh approach to cooking allergy-free food!
I've been a long time fan of the author, Amanda Orlando who I found years ago on the web. I have a daughter who lives with multiple food allergies and Amanda was one of the first adults I found living with food allergies. She has been such a source of inspiration and positivity for me and my girls throughout the years and truly does not let food allergies stop her from enjoying and creating beautiful food.I was very excited to get an advance copy of her new book, "The Easy Allergy-Free Cookbook" in exchange for an honest review. Amanda is known for creating easy, flavorful recipes and draws big flavors out by using whole foods and fresh ingredients-this cookbook doesn't disappoint and relies on the same ideology of cooking. Most recipes can be made in 30 minutes or less and call for five ingredients or less. Many are one pot dishes which is such a time saver for all of us especially for those of us living with dietary requirements. For anyone new to food allergies, there are nuggets of really helpful information; allergy-free shopping tips, foods to avoid and substitutions and essentials to stock your own allergy-free pantry. The recipes range from breakfast, vegan and vegetarian options, protein such as poultry and meat, staples and more. I'm most excited to try the Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, Creamy Tuscan Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken and personal size Meat Loaf which would be great to pack in lunches! If you are in a cooking rut and need inspiration for fresh, healthy and easy to make food or feel overwhelmed on how to approach allergy-free cooking, buy this book for you or your loved ones! This book can also serve as tool to get your kids in the kitchen cooking with you as many recipes are kid-friendly and super approachable.Thank you Amanda for sharing another wonderful book!

Disappointed
The recipes seem simple but I’m disappointed with the printing of the book. The ingredients are in bold and easy to read but the steps are faint and hard to read. I would not recommend this book. Obviously, not a good publisher.

Great Recipes with Real, Fresh Food!
I'm a long time fan of Amanda Orlando. I'm a food allergy mom who discovered her on Instagram and quickly learned that she celebrates food. I credit her for my new-found love of eating olive oil like it's butter. She's really good at taking ingredients and giving them their rightful time in the spotlight. Her chicken and carrot pan bake, for example, takes simple ingredients and lets them shine. I can't wait to try this one! And strawberry basil salsa will be making an appearance at my family table very soon! My favorite thing about this cookbook is that you'll find recipes created with real food all throughout. No fake substitutes but real, fresh food! I'm feeling replenished with new ideas for every kind of meal time. The informational section at the beginning also makes this a great gift for family members or anyone new to the food allergy community! The recipes in this book don't feel like they're free from anything. Food positivity is so important when you're dealing with food allergies. When you couple a positive attitude with amazing recipes just the way Amanda does, you empower people to enjoy the foods they CAN eat, which is just how it should be! Thank you, Amanda, for your impact on the food allergy community and for sharing these tasty recipes with the world!*I was provided with an advance copy of the book, but my review reflects my honest opinion.

The recipe instructions are in very light print, cannot see them.
The book looks like it provides a lot of good information. When you get to the recipes the ingredients are in bold print easy to read, the instructions for preparing the meals are in extra light print and are very hard to read. Wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased this book.

Great variety of delicious meals!
Amanda has done it again! The whole family always love her recipes, and my food allergy child never feels like they are lacking or left out with the variety of dishes!

cookbook for allergies great but recipe print very hard to read
Very few cookbooks that have recipes that are written specifically for people with the top allergies. Recipes are amazing however I found that the writing for the recipe portion was very very light print .I had difficulty reading. I contacted the author who said she thought this was the way it was supposed to be but would get publishing to check into it .I never heard back. Ingredients list and tips and index are all very readable and clear but the how to do portion is in a faint light gray

Inadequate cookbook
Recipes are way too basic (think serve chicken with plain cut up vegetables and no sauce!) Too many soups in the mains. About half the 85 recipes are sides, breakfasts and desserts rather than main meals. The steps for the cooking are written very lightly as others have said making them harder to read although that wasn’t a deal breaker for me - the lack of inventiveness was! The book is in American measurements and language (e.g. broiler - apparently this is the grill in English U.K.).
